The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

The wages seen in the sun were all based on contracts..some signed up to 5 years ago.

Scott gets paid less than Coxy beacuse it is based on a contract he signed in May 2004:
Colin Murray gets paid less than Edith Bowman because its based on a contract he signed whilst doing Zane's Show:
Coxys pay packet is based on the long term contract she signed in mid-2003 (whilst on brekkie)

Sun readers aren't going to be intelligent enough to work that one out or even think for 2 seconds about it....

Thats why I don't read the sun... 8) and read the glorious Nuts mag.

Topher, I cant go on.
I have to declare my feelings to....you:

Topher, Come live with me and be my love,
And we will all the pleasures prove,
That valleys, groves, hills and fields,
Woods or steepy mountains yields.

And we will sit upon the rocks,
Seeing the shepherds feed their flocks
By shallow rivers, to whose falls
Melodious birds sing madrigals.

And I will make thee beds of roses,
And a thousand fragrant posies,
A cap of flowers and a kirtle
Embroidered all with leaves of myrtle;

A gown made of the finest wool,
Which from our pretty lambs we pull;
Fair-lined slippers for the cold,
With buckles of the purest gold;

A belt of straw and ivy buds,
With coral clasps and amber studs;
And if these pleasures may thee move,
Come live with me and be my love.

The shepherd swains shall dance and sing
For thy delight each May morning;
If these delights thy mind may move,
Then live with me and be my love.

Well, as Oliver says he'sa teacher, and a new one at that then it's in teh region of £18,000 as all teachers get paid on the same pay scale.

Really? I thought teachers got more than that... I thought it was pushed as an attractive salary, I would want more than that to teach to be honest. Isn't the national average about £20,000?

Be fair, if there were other races there, they would be only driving the house prices down - so really Oliver is just a really good businessman!!?!!111111

Does anyone actually beleive The Suns latest story about the radio 1 presenters being frosty to each other off air?? I personally don't as moyles hasn't been at work and the only other person who has the right to be pissed off is scott mills!!

I don't see any problem with Moyles getting 600k, he is by far the most funny Dj on Radio 1 and he does it at 7am.
Some of the other pay is a bit wierd, but then again it's leaked salery figures, not the BBC standing up and telling everyone. Probably fake really.

Not quite true, Teachers only actually get paid for about 6 of the weeks holiday (not sure the exact figure) and their anual income is divided into twelve equal payments. We would either a) get less money if all of those 13 weeks were holiday or b) have to have less weeks away from school to jusify the amount we're paid.

The teachers pay scale does rise quite quickly but hits a limit quite quickly too if youdon't want to take on loads of extra, not that well paid, responsibilities. For example, a head teacher of an average sized primary school would only be on about £50, 000 whereas I, as a teaher with only two years under by belt only get about £21,000 (I started on aprox £18,000 as wold have Oliver)

I was speaking to a 36 year old headteacher the other night. I mean - thats quick career progession if you ask me.

Well, Not really - not if you start at say 20, I could be a head (if I wanted to which I don't) by 30 or just afterwards, perhaps 32. If I'd have started teaching as my first job I think it would havebeen possible to make head before 30. My headteacher has been a head for a good few years no and has only just turned 40.

Why do you not want to be a headteacher Eddie? Too much hassle?
User avatar

#225912
Yeah, it's far, far, far too much hassle being a teacher, let alone a headteacher but it's more the route up to being a head thats the real headache - so much work you wouldn't believe as in primary schools like mine, 99% of deputy heads have to do as much work as the head and also have a class to run. I can harldy handle running my class let alone doing the class work and deputy head work at the same time and pretty much the only route to a headship involves being a deputy head first.
