Yeah, I'm Irish from way back too. I *think* my maternal great-great-grandmother was from there, altho my family are so family history obsessed that the details all tend to blur into one another after a while. My parents are in Dublin tracing back that line as I type in fact. I was more pleased to find out that my paternal grandmother was descended from the Mormons in Salt Lake City - that just intrigued me more.

I have Irish ancestry somewhere down the line on my dad's side... some fella called Richard West Woolly who was a rag and bone man. I certainly am not Irish though - not that I would consider that a bad thing.

Well we're back from our honeymoon in the Lake district. We had an utterly amazing time but it did go a little too quick. We're both off work next week and are staying at home but are planning to go off on day trips, starting with tomorrow where we managed to get last minute tickets this morning for a gig at Colston Hall tomorrow.

I still can't believe this last week has gone so bloody quick though, and that I'm a married man!

Yep. She says that's fine, as you can please me in ways she never could. Oh, and could she have her suspender belt back if you've finished with it?

Bloody hell that has gone quick, then again this whole year has gone quick (half of September will be done by Tuesday), Christmas will be here soon. 8O

Our local Tesco's has already begun the christmas aisle. I was close to punching a shelf stacker when I saw.

Nice festive spirit you've got going there charla!

Technically they're late this year, they're normally got it all ready in August!

I really don't believe that I live in the only town in the country where this doesn't happen. None of the Supermarkets will have the Christmas stuff out until after Halloween here, they never do - and I've never seen it that early anywhere else either. Not that it would bother me if they did, spread the cost!

Most multiples get special christmas lines into depot from the start of September, stores like BHS & Debenhams get it in a bit earlier, in the middle of August. However merchandising of the stock in store is usually about a month later, so the high street will normally get Christmas late September, with the Supermarkets following in early October with Food and gift. The big push though with Cards and paper etc, which is by far the biggest earner for them, is, as yuds says, after Halloween.

It really depends on the companies promotion and seasonal calender, tesco works in 4 week blocks, others are longer, and therefore mean merchandising can be earlier or later.

I bought mine last january, they cost almost nothing if I remember. What I don't remember though is where I have put them.

I have got my in-law's pressie already, got it about a month ago.

My mum buys Christmas presents all through the year starting in January. They have a lot of people to buy for though.

Well theoretically I have a lot of people to buy for. But realistically I don't buy presents for all and sundry because I can't afford it.

I always used to laugh at people including my mum that did that sort of thing, but I moved out last year and after Christmas went and bought all my wrapping paper & cards...

I think this one's my favourite of the 'Hitler finds out...' YouTube videos so far:

Is that where the clip is actually from? Hitlers last days down in the bunker with his close allies and their families etc?

If so then yes I saw it, was on channel 4 a while back, it is really good.

I saw part of the trailer the other day, it does look quite good.

I also saw the trailer and it disturbed me. The foxes just looked too realistic. Things talking that shouldn't talk creep me out.
