That may be so, but that is just the I-tune chart......... one of many charts that count towards only the "download" sales on singles (leaving the rest as CD/vinyl/cassette sales).......... I don't think that's enough to get it into the top 40 personally.

500 sales off being in the top 20 on Sunday. Number 8 in the ITunes chart.

I wonder what percentage Moyles is taking in all of this? I mean he is a friend of Billie's afterall. Whereas the other members of the team all chose oldish 80's songs that they don't really have any connection with, our shrewd business savvy DJ friend opted for a song by one of his friends........ I presume for a cut of the takings.

Now that ammounts to personal abuse foot-loose, I was merely putting my views across, and I don't see what's so cynical about it?

I've said it time and time again on here, fair do's to him. He's using his position in the media to full effect, and I personally would do exactly the same.

He's not stupid you know.

Yeah but Footloose has one of those fancy signatures, and you don't, but you are sexy though, but footloose has a dog in his picture, and you only have a kitten, which would get eaten by his dog, and he would therefore win that argument

Two cats Boboff.... but one's a complete wimp.... so yes fair do's I would lose that argument.

No abuse was meant. Apologies if offense was taken.

I'll rephrase:

"That comment sounds a bit cynical Bfb."

Your right, I do think he uses his position in the media as best he can and I completly agree with him doing so - I would do the same. I was pretty impressed by how much he makes from the jingles and it was well done keeping that quiet for as long as he did!

In this instance, however, I don't think that he will gain a lot from it. I'm not sure how much the artist ends up getting from the record sales, but do you think its going to be a significant amount? Even if it is, I can't see how he would stand to benifit from it. I doubt he is allowed to make a deal with a record company which would mean he could heavily plug a record and then make money that way?

I also doubt Moyles would take a cut of the sales from Billie.

With regards to the rest of the teams choices, I don't think they put in as much thought as Chris did. Like it or not, I have found myself singing the song several hours after I last heard the show.*

Unfortunatly my dog is in her 80's, in a wheelchair and smokes like a chimney. As much as I love her to bits, she would be easily eaten by a kitten. (plus kittens have incredibly sharp claws!)

*This in no way retracts from my support for Kenny Loggins - Footloose, which is a spectacular song!

The BBC is a non-profit organisation, they're not allowed to advertise private businesses, however everytime Longman was introduced he was touted as
"Longman, who owns a sandwich shop in Rothwell Leeds, called Longmans".

If he's not allowed to promote records, surely he's not allowed to promote private companies.

I'm just saying is all.

Perhaps Gas-man "non-profit was the wrong phrase" I meant to draw on the fact that it's funded in a unique way, in that it doesn't use private advertising, and there are strict rules governing this.
