Ouch!

Ouch!

Yeah, it's my own fault really I should update weekly, I go into each post, copy the link, then past in the relevant post on the thread & submit, unfortunately I hit some button that prevented me from undoing my mistake.

Put it this way once I do it again tomorrow I'll update it more often from now on.

Wow, just looked at the folder of all my Moyles edits - it comes to 54GB

[bmstinton93]

I swear you said it was 70GB before

[ianpwilliams]

I think that was including Jamie's shows which I've edited, and shows uploaded by others too...

Either way I'm going to need a bigger hard drive

Wow. In the BBC provider options on Radio Downloader, don't change the conversion quality option to highest. It's taking literally about two hours to convert today's show.

[bmstinton93]

Maybe that is why mine stopped working suddenly. Did you have it set to the lowest before?

[ianpwilliams]

When I downloaded the latest version, I think it defaulted to encoding quality 5. But there doesn't seem to be much difference in quality. I'll compare today's show (quality 10) with tomorrow's show, which I will do at 5.

[bmstinton93]

I bet there is nothing in it but let me know please

[ianpwilliams]

I've listened to a bit of today's edited show (encoding quality 10) on my mp3 player, and a bit of yesterday's show (encoding quality 5), and there is no difference. So I'm sticking with the default 5.

Ian, what is your sampling frequency set to?

[dimtimjim]

I think he does it most days.......

[ianpwilliams]

44.1kHz (it's always usually 44.1kHz for audio, and 48kHz for audio for video). And I tend to go for 128kbps, which tends to be the lowest mp3 bitrate you can do before it starts sounded poor. Having said that, I don't have the "Re-encode..." and "Force all..." checkboxes ticked, so if the downloaded file is a higher bitrate than 128kbps then it wouldn't re-encode it anyway.

[bmstinton93]

Thank you.

I think he does it most days.......

How did I know that was coming...

[dimtimjim]

You got mystic balls?!

[bmstinton93]

At least I've got balls...

[bmstinton93]

Does anyone have the Friday September 23rd 2005 show please?

[ianpwilliams]

I've got it, but I haven't converted or edited it yet. I can send you the RealAudio file if you want to do it, otherwise I'll probably get around to it in the next few weeks (I'm on August at the moment).

[bmstinton93]

Yeah can you send it me please? I'll get it edited if you want as well

[bmstinton93]

Btw, this is why:
