Making me smile is the news that everything went well with my friend's 2-month-early caesarian section a few hours ago. I'm so relieved. The baby will need to spend several weeks in an incubator so it will no doubt be a challenging time for his mum and dad though.

They're both Uruguayan (she has a teaching placement at the University and her husband came here with her) but they've given him a Scottish name, Liam. :D (As far as I'm aware, his middle name isn't Forlan ;) )

This good news was very much needed - yesterday evening I learned that one of my favourite Great Uncles died, following a 3-week illness. He was a priest (very well known in Montevideo), and had conducted every family wedding, funeral and baptism for half a century. He actually baptised me when I went on my first trip over there at 11 months old. I've only had the chance to see him on four visits since then, most recently last August. I'm feeling sad of course, but enjoying the happy (and precious - as there weren't enough) memories. :)

Thanks Jill. :) Enjoy your weekend.

Mine will be starting with Uruguay Vs Ghana, and then I'll be off to either celebrate or drown my sorrows at a slightly delayed (due to yesterday's rain) Canada Day BBQ! No other plans yet except Twilight: Eclipse on Sunday, which I admit I am looking forward to...

My date on Friday nite was AWESOME. This boy and I are never gonna get married, but by God, he gets me where I need to go.

I had an amazing dream at the weekend - a flying one, with some added naughtiness - and was able to turn it into a lucid dream after waking up. I can manage lucid dreams fairly frequently, probably because I'm a very "dreamy" person (which I suppose just means I'm good at dream recall), but usually my dreams are bad, so this was a nice break from the norm. :D

I think I dreamed last night that I got married to Ray Mears, and went to my wedding in a long wedding dress riding a white horse.

I don't even fancy Ray Mears.

Conventionally to dream of flying is to do with sex and sexuality, but it would probably be more accurate to look at it in terms of lack of inhibition and freedom!

A white horse describes the state of spiritual awareness in the dreamer, marrying someone supposedly alludes to complimenting your own personallity with qualities the dreamer doesnt feel they have!

I went through to the Vodafone option for "if you're thinking of leaving us" and straight away the message said "we're very busy at the moment." Great advert for them.

I've been cast as a good role in this years musical, but more so, the insensitivity of the BBC reporters in Rothbury.
