Well, it's official, the person at my office who was off sick is not coming back, I'm now covering four teams at work (one was mine, two was that person's & one was a for someone who left our office a while back) , although thankfully the person who I'm working for int he last instance is retiring at the end of the month & his work is moving to another branch.

Either way for the foreseeable future there will just be three of us in my department, this time last year there was eight. :x

Yeah I know, we've also been told we're getting no pay rise until 2011 either, cut 75% of the office staff, get all their work & what do they give you in return, fack all!

It's just frustrating when you know that the only reason some of the firms are doing all these cuts is so that the shareholders get their bonuses as normal :(

When I was talking about my jobhunting issues, and how I'm not willing to just take a job because its offered but want to work for an organisation I respect which does work I'm interested in, I got a lot of snide comments along the lines if "well you'll be looking a long time then" and "no wonder you're still out of work" - but the situation Johnny 1989 is in is exactly what I want to avoid. I've been around too long to put up with commercial corporate bollocks of that sort - unless I absolutely HAVE to that is........Hope things improve for you soon Johnny. And for me too....

Stop posting on here and get on with your work then.... :D

Happening everywhere now mate, unfortunately we should all count our lucky stars we have a job at the moment. That's what I keep telling myself everytime I moan about my job.

I know what you mean. I know the time to choke the idealism back will probably come, but I'll fight it as long as I can.

Thanks, I hope so as well, and also hope they do for you as well. Today was a lot better (Friday's are always dead in our office for some reason) and I'm finally getting somewhere with the extra ton of work I've got. Plus our boss keeps remind us to not stress out and that we can only do the work we can do in our hours, to be fair he's also had a ton of work on him.

Then again I'm just glad I have a job at the mo.

OI! ;)

To be fair as I mentioned above it was steady today, we just all get the ump when the head office still demands we meet all the figures for different types of work at exactly the same time & then gets the ump when we don't meet those figures, forgetting that we have lost 3/4 of our staff in our office :(

6 day strike by a firm whose trains are never on time, they were offered 4%, this year I was told that we wouldn't be getting a pay review until January 2011 8O

I have to say I don't "feel their pain", * :x

Royal Mail will probably be pissing you off next, as we'll be striking before long (and in some areas, they already have)... :D

Well..... I feel your pain, a bit, you can have morals, if you like, you an be asked to work hard when you are at work, which is a shit, or not, but at the end of the day ladies and gents, it really doesn't amount to much.

Your family, and your friends are what count, and you will rarely find those on a forum.

What ever, be happy, feel glad to see the sun, respect another's opinion without changing yours...... but most of all

DON@T FORGET THE * SUN SCREEN!!!

There actually was a strike at the time and in the location that they were posted, so fingers crossed they arrive soon.

There was a small thread started, which mentioned that people didn't like the idea, so I imagine they've seen that.

Stomach cramp today. Taken some aspirin and they haven't really helped. Need to be lying on a sofa with a hot water bottle rather than sat in my office. Ouch.

Are they a pair and one odd shoe, or three odd ones? Three odd ones would indeed be a disaster.
