Everywhere has arseholes. Ours just seem to appear on the telly more frequently than others.

At least your arseholes are offset with a lot of positive stuff and their impact is cushioned by a general global approbation of all things Celtic. We just have arseholes.

Gah, those bloody Michael Winner sponsors for esure on ITV, they were crap five years ago, what makes them think people still like them today?

Annoying adverts stick in people's minds more though, I think. And you now associate him with those adverts and that brand, so you know what it's for as soon as you see his face.

But its also true that on many occasions even if the ad produces good product recall, the response is that I would never ever ever under ANY circumstances use that product because of the bloody advert. Esure would fall firmly into that category.

My take on car insurance is that cheapest is rarely what you want. I recently changed from my usual AA brokered policy to Direct Line based on cost and unfortunately already have reason to regret it. I blame Stephen Fry.

I'm quite pleased with my insurance package to be honest. The Esure deal is a bit better than the CIS deal I was on last year.

Weeeell - I agree there's no point in paying the highest price for car insurance, but the cheapo packages, in my experience, whilst they offer you on paper everything you are after, rarely deliver in a seamless and efficient manner. When I have gone for mid-range cost insurance I have had excellent service on the few occasions I've needed it, but whenever I have a cheap deal something goes wrong.

Example - a few years ago when we were with Norwich Union (not the cheapest, but not too bad) we had a nasty accident which was entirely the other person's fault. We had a courtesy car with us within two hours, our car was taken away within three hours, we needed the courtesy car for an extended period because our car was so badly damaged, and the other party's insurer refused to pay the extra cost - Norwich Union just dealt with it and we never needed to worry. That was the kind of service I except.

Last week though my car was vandalised. Direct Line were quick to register the claim, but I pay extra on my policy for a guaranteed replacement vehicle when mine is off the road (which it was). It took two days for them to get a car to me, and even then it was only because I refused to take no for an answer (and believe me, I am good at that). They are supposed to get it delivered to me - I ended up having to go and collect it myself. It also took a day and a half for them to pick my car up. I will be negotiating with them for at least a free month's insurance out of this, and as soon as I have it, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I'm not surprised - it was a bit choppy. I did enjoy it though (with the exception of some things that annoyed me, which I will not go into as I don't want to get into fan mode), but I certainly preferred the book.

I feel stupid. I'm going on my fifth ever trip to Uruguay on Wednesday and for the first time ever, I'm nervous about flying.

I think the Air France thing must have got to me, probably because it was just a regular long haul flight like the ones I'm used to (as opposed to a private jet or something like that) and that freaked me out. I've also used that airline and flown that route, although on this occasion I'm flying with Tam, which is a Brazillian airline. I know it's irrational, and I always used to wonder why some people made such a fuss, but now it seems to be happening to me. :?

Oh, that is annoying. At least my accommodation is sorted - I always stay with friends/family when I'm in Uruguay. I'm not looking forward to the 3 flights (possibly 4 if we need to fill up in Rio) it takes to get there though. The whole thing takes about 24 hours, with the longest of the flights about 12-13 hours.

Well I would be nervous about landing in Paris with nowhere to stay. Its not the friendliest place in the world to be stranded.

We're really pissed off about it, we had the hotel all booked and then 9 days before we go the company we're booked with say they're not working with them anymore due to problems (no idea what) so have tried to fob us off with the shittiest excuse for a hotel and we said no and said an alternative we were happier with that was of the same rating as the original and checked it was free for the weekend and they came back saying it's fine if we pay £200 extra. Some people are total twats.

A friend of mine had that a couple of years back with a holiday to Thailand, honestly some of these companies are pathetic, if you're having problems with a company at least stop dealing with them before you leave customers in the lurch.

My friend was lucky though as they ended up on a secluded Thai island with hardly anyone else on the beach, they wanted her to pay more, however between her boyfriend & another friend of ours they gave them the upgrade for nothing (something about legal action, etc.)

Pissing me off yesterday & probably for the rest of the week, work, can you see a pattern.

Truth is, I need a break from it, can anyone recommend a place to go (In the UK or Europe) for a long weekend just to get away from bloody London for several days (it must be getting to me at the mo, I never dislike London)

Tell you what, why don't I say something deliberately stupid to wind you up, then you can justfiably have a go at me and get it all out of your system in one epic vitriolic post?
