He also played Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy at some point this week and then didn't tell anyone what it was! He must have a new CD.

Zoot wrote:My Great Uncle is not expected to last the day today bless him. Why, you ask, am I posting it in this thread? Well he's a great funny old man who I remember from when I was little as someone who constantly had a woodbine in his mouth, always wore a little brown hat and called me Charlie, because I looked like my Grandfather - his brother. To me it seems kind of fitting that not only are we expectant to lose him today, I'm also expectant to become an uncle today too (Well, unofficial, until September anyway...).

The ciirrcle, the circle of life

Both happened yesterday, The baby was born in the morning, my Great Uncle died late night.
Bless.

Me too, that was hilarious.. I kept my headphones on until they finished doing that.

What made that one all the better was the timing. He had just introduced him on the telly when you heard her comments in the background. Not bad since she won't have actually heard him.

Although his reaction to the new balls please comment was a belter.

Did I hear right that Aled said you could listen/watch later when people were texting that they had to go to work? Or was he just referring to the BBC news broadcast. I'm sure that'll be on the 'best bits' though!

And the way she said it. Straight out of a French and Saunders sketch, with Carrie Prideaux/Dawn French as a 14 year old schoolgirl.

Carrie was reporting from Centre Court - as was her ex, who does the sport bulletins for BBC telly news in the mornings. She played a fairly prominent part in one of his live broadcasts.

I'm just having a listen back to yesterday's show, absolutely brilliant, Carrie has really gone up in my estimation. I may edit that one along with some classic shows over the next few days & have it up in the archive by Sunday, hopefully

A very lovely person known to the members of this here forum has bought us a gym membership! Nobody's ever got me anything like that before, although it makes me feel a bit guilty because it's not cheap. I'm going this evening though.
