I can't see why you can't have designated smoking rooms though that are separated from the non-smoking parts.

The legislation was designed in a large part to protect people who work in those environments. Lung cancer in non-smokers is found most commonly in people who work in pubs, bars etc.

But whatever the arguments for allowing smoking in pubs, I do think it should definitely be banned in eating establishments without exception. I even know smokers who don't like smokey areas when they're eating.

I agree with this completely even as a smoker.

If there were separate outdoor entrances for the smoking and non smoking entrances I can't see how the smoke would travel between the two areas Topher. I miss having a smoke and a pint.

If you had separate outdoor entrances on both sides of the building with no way of getting from one area to another without going outside, you may have a point... however, how many buildings have the capacity to operate like that?

My random thought the other day was when does 'outdoors' became 'indoors'? I mean it's now a three walled room.

I was at that time yes - but I've never joined in the dislike for Mills - that's not to say I'm a fan! I just get annoyed with adverts on commercial radio.
