People that can't keep a secret are annoying me! We have known for well over a month that there was to be an awards ceremony today at my son's school and that it was a "secret." The graduating students were completely unaware that some of them would be receiving an award. I told Mr. Sunny MULTIPLE TIMES not to let on that we had the assembly and that our boy would be receiving an award. I was rushing around like a mad woman this morning trying to get ready for it and my son naturally assumed I was just getting ready for work. He made his own breakfast and packed his lunch...and then it happened. He opened the garage to walk to school and there's his father parked in the driveway. I was thinking to myself, "Surely you'd park around the corner, right? I mean, why stay in the driveway and invite questions?" But noooooo. I saw it play out in slow motion, as I stood there slackjawed thinking, "No one could be this stupid!" But I was wrong. When my son said, "Daddy, why aren't you at work?" Did he reply with, "I forgot something" or "I needed to speak with your mother" or "My pancreas has just fallen out of me" or ANYTHING?! Noooo. He said, "We've got your assembly this morning..." After recovering from my aneurysm, I approached him and screeched, "WHY?" He answered with, "I forgot."

I should've been born American, I do like A/C. Probably because I'm a fat bastard! Driving with the window open brings your MPG down too, although granted not as much as A/C.

Actually, at slower speeds it is more fuel efficient to drive with your windows down, but past a certain speed (about 45-55 MPH, depending on the size and shape of your car) the amount of fuel that is needed to counter the drag caused by having the windows open is greater than the amount of fuel needed to generate/replenish the electricity supply in the car. So, for driving through town have the windows open and for motorways/dual-carriageways have the A/C on.

......OR have your A/C system set to "Eco" mode. In our car we worked oout that straight A/C increased the fuel consumption by almost 5%, which we were fairly shocked by. Having it set to Eco brings it down to just under 2%. It isn't as nice. Sometimes it's not an easy choice......

So you're telling me that you can remember all these lines to films, books, know about computer games, programming, various philosophical subjects, and all sorts of other random facts which you frequently spout forth about... but you don't know what model your car is?

Id imagine its either gonna be a ka, a fiesta, a focus or a mondeo. It could also be an escort, but that would be quite old and probably not purple.

Pretty much, yeah - those other things interest me, my make of car doesn't. I can remember the license plates, I could tell you how an internal combustion engine works and I could tell you the difference between a diesel and a petrol engine, but I couldn't tell you the make of my car. Saying that though, I think it's either an Escort or a Fiesta - whichever I have now, I used to have the other one (I think). My old one was blue.
