I've recently got into the "It's Up For Grabs Now" Arsenal Podcast with Alan Davies & think it's a great podcast, and not just because it's Arsenal related, it's genuinly funny, in my opinion of course.

However I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations of any other great Podcasts out there, just so that I have something else to wake up to the next time Mills is covering

up for grabs is genuinely outstanding. been on it since the first ep - and there are come really really good installments from the past. davies is on top form in pretty much every episode.

then again, i'm an arsenal fan, so can't give an unbiased opinion...

It is brilliant, what I like about it is that they also have a go at Arsenal's own players, Flappyhanski in particular on the Podcast, currently listening to the show when they read out from Arshavin's website for the second time  Also though Alan's rant about the Ramsey leg break was great.

I am not an ARSEnal fan and I also love up for grabs, I like Keith "she was nice" Dover and the Alexander Dimitri Song Billong song

My recommendation is SModcast with Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier

Keith "She was nice" Dover is great on that, him talking about lesbians was quite funny as well, especially when they had a go about it to him  and the song , ahem, song is great as well. Also the Diaby/John Terry song.

I like the Anti-Tottenham chant on the "end of the season" one from May, as sung by Alan Davies:

When I was just a little boy
I asked my mother, what should I be,
Should I be Arsenal,
Should I be Spurs,
Here's what she said to me,
WASH YOUR MOUTH OUT SON
AND GET YOUR FATHERS GUN
AND SHOOT SOME TOTTENHAM SCUM
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be

The caps he shouts out really loud

I'll check out the SModcast as well :)

He's genuinely quite funny on this, I'd recommend the Podcast to you, even Duck approves & he hates the mighty Arsenal

I'd really reccomend the Hamish & Andy podcasts. They are the two drivetime hosts in Australia and have turned that slot into the most listened to radio show in aussie history. They are on a break at the moment, but there is a small archive of old episodes on iTunes. They have quite a lot of ideas and their caller interaction is some of the funniest I have heard on the radio ever.

Sad thing is they are getting more and more TV work in Aus now, so they are leaving the daily show and going to weekly after Christmas. Still worth listening to, and shows just how good radio can be if you give talented people a bit of freedom.

I don't think I've ever heard a good stand-in on Fighting Talk in the past 3/4 years that I have been listening.

As Mills is now in for 2 weeks, I thought I'd give a mention to some podcasts I've been working my way through for the past months :D

The filmmaker Kevin Smith has his own podcast network, which started with Smodcast, but now has a wealth of shows to listen to. I'm seriously addicted to these things!

Love Smodcast. A mate of mine got me into it a while back and I spend most of my week listening to stuff on the Smodcast Podcast Network.

Not really got into Tell 'Em Steve-Dave to be honest, nor Puck Nuts cos I'm not into Ice Hockey. I think my favourite is probably Hollywood Babble-On, not only cos Ralf Garman is brilliant but also it's like watching the E Channel my missus constantly watches but if I was running it.

Others I listen to - Jay & Silent Bob Get Old (Jason Mewes never fails to make me laugh), Blow Hard (honestly learned more about the gay community from these podcasts than anywhere else) and Plus One with Kevin's wife (the fishes have no eyes!)

Pretty much my week at work is spent turning Radio 1 off just after 10am and then listening to all of these as they come out through the week, The Guardian football podcast, Friday night comedy podcast from Radio 4, Dave Gorman's podcast from Absolute Radio and the Celtic Underground and Lostbhoys podcasts which are just Celtic fans producing their own material (yes this has now become a plug as I've done some bits and pieces for both podcasts). But most of my time is taken up listening to one Smodcast.com podcast or another.

This week has been slightly different in that I haven't even turned Radio 1 on.

I've heard good things about the Smodcast but never got around to actually listening to it or the different incarnations it has other than the one after Zack & Miri Make A Porno opened and did bad money for them and just ranted about why it didn't succeed etc.

The podcasts I usually listen to are gaming-related as I am a big video game fan (as you can tell from my avatar). Ones like the Giant Bombcast, Gamespot UK and a few others that people on Youtube and that do, which are entertaining to me. I listen to a movie/tv-based one as well called Behind The Screened Door and a Harry Potter one called Mugglecast but that is pretty much all the ones I listen to as I tend to listen to them and Chris Moyles shows and podcasts during my work nights.

I've never heard of the Smodcast. Sadly though I listen to too many podcasts already for me to start another one, so I'll have to take your word for it that it's good :( I like IGN's podcasts when it comes to video games; the IGN UK Podcast and Game Scoop! are two of my favourites. I like HowStuffWorks' podcasts as well; Techstuff, SYSK, Carstuff. The rest are mainly technology-themed, TWiT, Tech News Today, Mac OS Ken...

Trevor & Simon have one?!?!?! Do you have a link please :D

Also just in case anyone didn't know Up For Grabs has now been replaced by The Tuesday Club & it's even funnier than Up For Grabs as they are less restricted on the new one :)

This is now three podcast-related threads merged, just in case anyone is confused. The discussion all follows on quite nicely though.

Yes, they do have a podcast, and it's VERY good! Sadly, they don't put them out on a regular basis.

Here's the link which will take you to the first blog entry, which has the very first podcast on it :D

Thought I'd get this going. What Podcasts do you listen to on a regular basis and you're subscribed to?

I'm subscribed to Podcasts such as:

The Xfm Breakfast Show with Jon Holmes (Probably my favourite Podcast ever at the moment.)

The Opie and Anthony Show Podcast (Really recommend this one.)

Freestyle with Frankie Boyle and Glenn Wool. (Episodes aren't released that often but I still love it.)

Those are my favourites and the one's I listen to the most.

But anyway.. Over to you.

The Kermode and Mayo Film Review podcast. Far and away my current favorite

Tuning In To Sci-Fi TV. Only covers shows currently running in the US however, so not that relevant here I guess.

Slice of SciFi - covers TV shows, movies, comics, books and geeky pop culture stuff in general. Currently on hiatus though. The person who runs it isn't sure when it's going back into production.

Science-related podcasts from various sources (I work in biomedical research)

Anyone who is a fan of wrestling should give Steve Austin's podcast a try. Really good interviews with stars past and present.

I'm subscribed to:
The Empire podcast - It has alot of bonus episodes, Especially over the summer period when the blockbusters come out.

Rhod Gilbert's best bits - I like his stand-up shows. His podcast is very much a case of "Marmite"

The infinite monkey cage podcast - I like the serious & comedy crossover conversations about relevant (and sometimes unthought about) issues.

KISS breakfast podcast - I only stumbled across this a few days ago but soo far soo good. I will admit to listening to one a week being about right though.

Thank you both!!
