I don't often sign petitions but this one is potentially useful -

Cardiac screening in 14-35 year olds

Responsible department: Department of Health

Prevention is better than cure.

Currently the Government policy states that cardiac screening should not be offered.

There are over 600 deaths per year in 14 - 35 year olds from undiagnosed heart conditions.

We believe that these could be prevented by the Government changing their policy on cardiac screening in this age group.

The A.D.A.M Appeal was founded following the death of 28 year old Adam Swanwick who suffered an acute M.I. We call on the Government to review their policy on cardiac screening in young people.
