Tripe is horrible. Offal in general is iffy as far as I'm concerned, although liver and to a lesser extent kidneys are fine. But tripe is totally revolting. I had a boyfriend once who loved the damn stuff, used to make me cook it for him. Tripe and onions, honestly, it was just horrible. But then so was he.

Do humans eat tripe? My dad used to feed it to our Golden Retriever and I've truly never known such a vile smell.

Course they do! It's a staple working class wartime and post-war food. I think my dad likes it. I know he likes liver and onions *vomits*

You know what Mr. Pher, I thought I was too but I seem to have regressed into a child like mind set or DimT-Jim-syndrome as it's known and couldn't help myself.

Almost everyone who dislikes liver hasn't had it properly cooked, and a good number of them would change their minds if they did. My mum taught me how and its lurvely. Nothing like what I remember from school dinners, that horrible tough gritty stuff. Yeuch.

Liver does polarise opinion. Its fair enough, a lot of people just won't eat any offal and I can respect that. The boyfriend who loved tripe also used to like stuffed hearts - I wouldn't touch those either. He was a freak. Liver, bacon and mash with onion gravy like my mum made is lovely, kidneys are ok in small doses (or large steak puddings) - beyond that, nah.

You guys talked about this on here not too long ago and on that recommendation I tried it whilst out for Dinner one evening. Served with black pudding and colcannon mash. All I can say is... average.

Weird texture and an unusual taste and that was just the Missus.*

Edit
*That looks worse in type than it did in my head*

So very true, however, I don't think the nun I wet willied the other day would agree with spontaneous acts of childishness being a good thing.

If the texture was weird then I would say it was probably overcooked. Done properly its good. Well done for giving it a go though, its more than I would do with heart.

Not so much annoyed as a bit apprehensive about my brother's night shift tonight. He's a North London firefighter and has been on day shifts the last two days, but is on nights from tonight. Seen reports that although no firefighters have been injured, some have been threatened by rioters.

The fact that Cher Lloyd is number 1! :P it shows the British public will buy anything that's total crap nowadays. But this is the same public that sent that atrocity Crazy Frog to No 1 beating Coldplay (while I'm not a big fan of them, are infinitely better) a few years back.

Anyone on here like that song? Come on, don't be shy!
