Soccer Aid was great. The penalty shoot out was so nerve wracking! Olly Murs did really well and this has probably been mentioned before but Mike Myers looks lots like Comedy Dave!

England threw it away when wotsisname came on. The old bloke. You know, thingy. He was rubbish and pretty much guaranteed that we weren't going to get the goal we needed to avoid the penalties. I really enjoyed the whole thing, it was great - but I wanted us to win! Damn my competitive nature.

Bradley Walsh was absolute PANTS.

I very very rarely watch Football matches, as they are frankly boring, but I watched this and really enjoyed it. Ben Shepherd, Lewis, and one other guy did really well.

Great.

So, with 93 days left to go, are you now a fat-cat? (obviously I mean in the beautiful-baby-carrying way, not the eaten-too-many-pies way....)

Pies rule. In fact, now you've got me thinking, i'm off to 'the proper pasty company' for my lunch today. Steak n Ale shizzle for lunch. Dribblesome.

All this envy from north of the border. I'd love to see their faces if England won. Mind you if that happened I'd be busy scraping the ice of my car, parked at No. 1, Hell Street, Hell - on - Wheels, Helldover, Hell - so I wouldn't have time to look at them anyway.

to be honest the actual football team doesnt bother us, its all the over the top hype that is hard to stomach, do you think chocolate bars would be rebranded for any of the other home nations???
and whats with probably the best lager in the world backing England? are they not Danish and Denmark have actually qualified

Surely in Denmark they will be supporting Denmark - it's all about changing to suit a particular market. Plus, they are nowhere near the best lager in the world, despite what they may tell you.

I'd imagine that their Danish marketing campaign, supports Denmark. Given that international football almost goes hand in hand with beer - i can understand why the link has been made here, and many would say that it would be stupid for Carlsberg (being one of the best selling home beers in britain) to ignore the world cup.

OH WAIT. here's a list of national teams which carlsberg sponsors :

Denmark
England
Ireland
Serbia-Montenegro
Switzerland

Looks like Ireland would get backing to if they had made it to the finals.

IF scotland qualified, there would be a lot of 'over the top hype' then too, given that ANY nation that qualifies is ecstatic just to be there, and we've not had anything to cheer about football wise for 4 years - whereas Scotland got to beat France.

I do think that chocolate bars would be rebranded for other home nations...oh look Mars also happen to be an official sponsor of the England team, and have been for many years.

Surely it's not the hype, but the constant reminder that Scotland aren't in the tournament that is bothering you.

If so, then fair enough.

(but that is another way of saying that you'd be jealous of England having made it to the finals)

Aberdeen was easily the best night out I had last year.

Haha, not there. We were out in Fallowfield cause my mates lived there. Got refused entry to Red Rum even though we were sober but apparently it was packed and only people on the guest list were getting in. Not overly impressed. Just ended up hammered at the after party which was pretty quality. Looking forward to seeing if Scouse girls are what I've heard they're like!
