Nothing wrong with that! It just makes me wonder what any of the new presenters could do to replace him in the eyes of the audience.

A lot of the time new hosts don't work, particularly if the predecessor was long-standing and well-established in the role. I suspect Stephen Fry knew and had considered this when he took the job on. Give him a break, it's his first show.

Incidentally, the one case I can think of where this was not the case is Simon Amstell on Buzzcocks.

I think you may be right there Toph. Although Amstell for some reason seemed to cause more trouble - i.e. Preston from the Ordinary Boys walking out of a show etc. Don't think that ever happened with Lamar?

Amstell is a hundred times funnier and more watchable than Mark Lamarr. I loathe that nasty little creep.

Well he's another one who has to take what he can get, the slimy lard-arse.

This bit is brilliant -

I think he comes across as a nasty piece of work.

On the other hand, I quite like Jupitus.

Lamarr was much nastier than Amstell, he was vicious at times.

I watched an older Buzzcocks last night and had the overwhelming feeling that it was better than it is now, mainly due to the difference in host.

Each to their own I suppose.

Such a shame to see Bill Bailey looking really uncomfortable throughout those moments - he's too nice.

I like Phil Jupitus, prefer Bill Bailey to Sean was it? Never really watched it with him on it.

Any fans should definately go and see it be filmed. Much funnier I think

Sean Hughes was funny, but then so was Bill Bailey. Is he back for the next series, or did I dream that?

I'm happy with life, the universe and everything. Got very bored with listening to myself complain about everything! Yay! Happy S4 is back! ;)

Board seems quite dull at the min - any of these threads I will enjoy reading? Getting bored dredging through them.

Everyone ok, anything exciting going on?

I may be too, if I don't get caught up doing something else.

What's everyone going to see?

A few of my friends are getting worked up over the new Transformers movie - I've never seen the first one and didn't watch the cartoons but I can see me going to the IMAX to see it.

I don't know, I'll see what I fancy when I get there. Maybe Night at the Museum 2. I'm definitely seeing Transformers, but it's not out until Friday.
