Would you want a girl that your fiancé was having sex with there on your wedding day? If Topher and I got married no exes are allowed either, It's my day I don't want to turn round and see a girl he used to have sex with and I think the same would stand for him and my exes. It's about starting your life together and letting go of your pass, I wouldn't want you there either.

Well obviously in practice I can't say cos I'm single, but in theory I kinda hope I'd be able to be an adult about it and if my fiance wanted to invite a close friend that he just happened to have slept with (bearing in mind I'm not an ex), I'd be okay with it. If I was so insecure in my relationship that I couldn't bear for him to be around his former shags, I'd be questioning whether it was a good idea to marry that man.

But there's a difference between sometimes being around your other half's ex and having him / her there on what is supposed to be the happiest day of your life.

I guess it also depends how good friends you now are as well and how comfortable they make your other half feel because sometimes they can just give you the silent treatment even though they ended the relationship...

I'm aware how bitter that sounds, but who gives a *. I'm happy now and I don't think she possibly can be, otherwise she'd be happy for me.

ah, my ex gives me the silent treatment when he sees me even tho he's with someone and I'm single. Not being able to acknowledge someone after 6yrs together is pretty pathetic, but that's just how some people are.

I'm sorta seeing my ex again. But he's keeping it quiet from 1 person (well and those that wld tell her) his last serious ex. Theyre still friends, but I think he still has some feelings for her. Whenever she gets drunk she tells him she still loves him, but then the next day its like nothin was said, basically like dangling a carrot at him constantly.

Yes i know, it'll all end in tears, and they'll be mine!

Anyway the point I was going to make is, if he was to get married, he'd invite her.

I am still friends with several exes, including one significant one who I was with not long before I got together with Mr Y. I am always happy to see him, and he gets on well with Mr Y too, but there's no way it would have been right to have him at our wedding. He completely agreed. Your wedding day is not a day to mess with.

The first photos are appearing on facebook already. Seeing so many of my friends there, including my flatmate who is probably my closest friend, is a little bit galling. (Also, the bride had an obscene amount of cleavage showing. So tacky.) Nevertheless, I do understand people's perspectives on this. I just wish I'd been invited so I could have the good grace to make the decision for myself that it wouldn't be appropriate to go and decline politely, rather than just not be invited, if that makes any sense at all.

Seriously? Hardly the time or place to be whipping them out. Tacky indeed.
