Just curious, how much media and TV coverage did this get in England?

It was on BBC Three. I don't think it got an awful lot.
Had a lot of attention from Radio 1 - probably because Edith was presenting the BBC coverage.

It was shown live on BBC 2 up here, it pisses me off that it wasn't the same in England. Bet it was barely mentioned in the papers down there too.

Yup, my friends were like "oh we can't get BBC Three, won't be making an effort".

Did you get lots of coverage of the Hyde Park one then?

It's not getting as much coverage in England as it does up here. Radio 1 in Scotland doesn't have Trevor Nelson on at 4pm, it's still T in the Park stuff. Funny that, cause it always has the best festival line up, dunno why England loses out, BBC bias I suppose.

The Hyde Park coverage in Scotland was exactly the same as the English coverage, wall to wall etc.

Ah typical Mcqueen. Surely whether it's * or not didn't matter because of the cause. It just pisses me off that it, along with T in the Park, barely gets any coverage in England when English stuff gets rammed down peoples throats up in Scotland. Apparently there is no such thing as BBC Scotland.

Ha, You seriously think that Live8 in Hyde Park was broadcast because of the cause? It was done because it was the biggest gig in history with such a variety of acts performing. I'd bet a crisp £50 that there quite a few people actually there who didn't even know the reasons behind Live8.

If it was a small gig with shit performances it wouldn't have got the coverage it did. Like Edinburgh.

Natasha Bedingfield and Whats his face doing a duet.. It could only be made worse if it was introduced by Lenny Henry. Oh..

If they didn't when they went in, surely they did when they left? It was practically drummed into them almost every second that an act wasn't performing.

McQueen's point is right though. throw a concert in your back garden for starving kids and see whether the bbc pick it up.

The event in Scotland is only going to happen once like the one in Hyde Park. It dosen't matter how big or small, crap or good. By the way what was on BBC 2 in England at the time. Probably some crap gardening show or bird watching crap with that guy with the beard.
Radio 1 do ram stuff down your throat of any sort. I mean get an event happen on a weekend, and they never shut up about it. Some DJ's worse than others. For example Jo Whiley is worse than Chris Moyles and Scott Mills for it.

Jo Whiley's annual Glastonbury hyping and praising is unrivalled. Thank god we dont have to put up with that next year. Funny how she's been totally tight-lipped about T in the Park, which always has the better line-up.

Radio 1 are going to Majorca next weekend (not sure of the DJ's, I know Jules, Pearce, and I think Tong are going to be there). But it should be somthing different for a change. Makes a change from hearing the Kaiser Cheifs rammed down my throat...

I don't know if it's just me but you seem to be one of those people who are determined to knock anything that's popular, no matter what.

T in the Park looked great this weekend. It was rotten that Greenday wouldn't let any filming take place of their set even tho they were headlining yesterday. The Prodigy put on a good show though. It brought back drunken nights as a teenager.

Prodigy are awsome! Fat of the land was one of the best albums of all time.

Problem is with radio 1, they wear a good thing out. Im not keen on Glasto, but some ppl apparently are. But after listening to R1 over that weekend, some would never want to go again.... :(

OK thanks, good to know. Does anyone have the cat[…]
