The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Seems as though Moyles will be fronting Radio 1's coverage, even though it's a day into his holiday.

From: http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/thelive8event/onbbc/

BBC Radio will be offering the complete picture of Live 8, with live broadcasts from the event in London and the concerts around the world, as well as news updates and analysis of the issues that have brought musicians together.

Radio 1
2 July: 1.00pm-1.00am

Radio 1 is broadcasting live throughout the day from Hyde Park - with Radio 1 DJs including Sara Cox, Vernon Kay and Chris Moyles bringing listeners coverage of some the best bands in the world. To give a flavour of the other Live 8 concerts happening around the world, Radio 1's Newsbeat will also be reporting live from Paris, Berlin and Rome. In a specially extended version of the rap show from 9pm, Tim Westwood catches up with the events in Philadelphia.

Seems as though its pretty much taking over the BBC by the looks of that link. Wall to wall live coverage on all national radio and TV.

People gonna be watching/listening then I take it?

Sadly I cant cos I'm going to see Oasis that day.. tough life eh.

An Oasis fan with a picture of Greenday... That does shock me, I think you're one of the few Oasis fans that like other music.

Damon Albarn is a musical genius, Blur were and still are a far better band than Oasis, and some (not all) Oasis fans think they are the be all and end all of music. And those who don't always seem to love the following bands:

Green Day
Foo Fighters
Red Hot Chili Peppers

The new album isn't up to much either, just like the previous three but the press say it's great, fantastic, the best thing since What's The Story, Morning Glory, because they don't want to look out of line with everyone else. Give it 6 months and they'll be U-Turning like with Be Here Now, Standing On the Shoulders Of Giants, and Heathen Chemistry, and saying that it's sh-it.

Rant Over.

Most of the hardcore Oasis fans I've encountered don't seem to like anything else other than Oasis. Just an observation.

The best band in the world is right there in your avatar Mr Splodge, not mine.

I wouldn't say I love any of those bands in that list above btw. I like Green Day and the others are ok, but I'd put loads of bands above them (including Blur).

Those fans who think Oasis are the "be and end all" of music are clearly very wrong, but I'd think it stupid to try and generalise that just to a specific group. You get fans of all bands who think they are the be and end all of music, not just Oasis. In fact I would say die hard Manics fans are worse in that respect.

As for the album, you are entitled to your opinion but I think it is better than the last three.

i must say, green day is crap now. their new album is too "mature".

blur was a better band, but damon, left unchecked, is horrible.

if i had money, i'd try to go to a g8 concert. too bad i actually have a job, but i'm broke. :(

I agree with you, Die hard Manics are the worst of them all, they look very scary, scrape '4 Real' in to arm with their finger nails or with a blunt instrument and wear ridiclous amounts of make up.

Remember the whole race to number one thing? Blur won, blur being the better of the two, obviously

I know 4 die hard Oasis fans and they won't accept any other music apart from Oasis.
They say "Bloc Party won't be around in 10 years" and many other bands. But how can they assume that after one album?
Oasis 1st album was there best, and the albums havn't been that amazing since.

bloc party is pretty overrated, you have to admit.
