Lets be honest… do they really need Rachel or Carrie on the programme. If the BBC really want to cull their staff, then look no further than those pieces of dead wood. Even the “oooh yeahhh” sound bite is annoying…

Don’t get me wrong I am sure they are really lovely girls (personality wise), but hey, that never stopped any other industry making tough decisions. It could even be argued that Alled should get the chop, however he acts as a gay comedy buffer for Chris’s gags… Not to mention that he answers the phone! (invaluable in todays modern radio suites)

As a girl I think the girls on at the moment add very little to the show. For instance have they got rid of Josh.... I dunno they could and I wouldn't even notice as she hardly ever contributes. Rachel just moans and Carrie is difficult for most people to relate to and not funny.

Thats not to say that a girl in the future may come on and change my opinion.

I agree with Flame about Edith. I enjoy listening to Edith most of the time. She could carry off her own show without Colin which I don't think either Rach, Josh or Carrie could. Think that all of them should just get on with their jobs (rachel producing, carrie reading the sport and josh making tea) as they don't contribute much (if anything) by being active members of the show in the way that Chris, Dave, Dom and Aled are. Theres no shame in it as Georgina Bowman doesn't join in any of the shows so its not as if its part of a newsreaders remit to contribute.

If they want a woman in the show they should get someone in who is funny, articulate and can stand her own ground instead of Rach's usual pathetic 'Don't be mean' etc. Does anyone else find her moany and wimpish attitude annoying!!!!

As Gaspode said, they aren't there to be entertaining. If they ever are that is a bonus the show gets from them for free. I'm sure this has been said before but JOCE is involved OFF AIR, as is Will and Ferg. They aren't suppose to be on Air but if they were all sacked im sure you'd notice a big difference.

Well obviously Edith, (a presenter!) can carry a show off on her own, that's her Job, not Rachels, Carries or Joces.

I agree with Gaspode, Carrie's job is to read the sport. It is Chris who chooses to involve her in the links.

Rachel should go though, or at least swap with Greyhead. The show has gone so much off the boil since shes become producer - and she must take a lot of the blame. Even if she doesnt go in the near future though, the next set of audience figures will be down again, so some kind of action will have to be taken.

Rachel i believe to be a good producer and in some cases it is good as she censors Chris on the odd occasion which can get him out of a lot of trouble if he had done it. However i do agree that Will would be a better job than Rachel as the show producer rather than Day Producer. The team member i believe to be most likely for the chop if i had the decision would be Joce; i just dont feel that she fits into the show. I know what people were saying earlier about it's not her job to be on air but Chris has even tried to get her involved before such as that cake bread or whatever it was but she is so reluctant. She just doesn't seemt to fit into the team and she would do far better to go back to someone such as Jo Whiley with a show that i feel suits her.

You mean she doesn't fit into the team On Air, which she isn't meant to do. Off Air you don't know, she could be a real asset to the team.

Some solo Dj's seem to try involve Off Air members, Vernon and Coxy the most notable, but the BA's/Producers rarely speak on mic. Does this mean they aren't valuable in the whole team that puts out the show? I think not..

i prefer it though when he does get into trouble, listening to some of the old shows in the 4-7 slot, i cant help feeling that they wouldnt be half as good if rachel was producing. take risks once in a while.
