Is that to do breakfast. I heard Pete and Geoff were moving to a different slot.

I havent heard O'Connell on XFM but everything I've heard has been good and Virgin is waste of space imo so yeah I'd say its for the money (altho he may claim its a challenge)

Pete and Geoff will probably swap with Kelly and go back to drivetime, before Christian O'Connell takes over breakfast in 2006.

Pete and Geoff don't leave until the end of 2005, so O'Connell takes over straight away.

Hopefully not cos he is brilliant on that show.

I think he's going to Virgin to reach a national audience, clearly. To be honest if I could pick up that station on FM instead of crappy MW I might listen more.

Should be interesting how he fares in the ratings though. Despite the fact Chris slags Virgin off quite a bit, I always thought (and still do think) that he'll end up there when he leaves Radio 1.

I quite like Virgin - mainly for it's wider variety in music. The presenters aren't up to much but they hardly say anything really and the advert breaks are pretty infrequent, so all's good.

nah don't want him as the presenter hes too good on the show. you know moyles might work on fighting talk... it doesnt require great sport knowledge.

I would listen to Virgin if I could get it on FM also.

Yeah, I was gonna say that. What's the point of having a music station on medium wave when the quality is shite?

Only the BBC are aloud national FM licences for commercial music stations. Any others are only aloud to broadcast over 2 cities on FM.

Sorry, I meant popular.

I say that, because Classic FM is the exception to the rule, as BBC Radio 3 had the dominance on classical music

OK thanks, good to know. Does anyone have the cat[…]
