He's the best daytime DJ. But Zane Lowe is my favourite DJ now.

Moyles is the third best DJ/Presenter on any station of the past 10 years behind Tommy Boyd and Nick Abott..

Mills is definately better at the moment, but only because Chris's show seems lazy.

Were talkin daytime here, Judge Jules is the best "dance" DJ:

Radio 1 in 2001

1. Mark Radcliffe & Marc (Lard) "Riley Minouge"
I admit they did talk a lot, but you had to listen to what it was about. But their features like Missing Words an Lards Classic Cuts did it for me, and I do remember them saying somthin funny about the Olsen twins and me laughing my head off about it, but I can't think of what that was!

2. Chris Moyles
He has always been top, and although he has always been arrogant & said he is the best DJ of the time (some would agree), he had some good words for Mark & Lard and said he had learned a lot from them in the BBC north powerhouse documentary on the last Mark & Lard show. Some of his features I sometimes dislike (not too keen on carpark catchphrase), but I think his best moments involved Jon Culshaw & those phonecalls!

3. Scott Mills
Although at first I found him annoying, he has developed as a DJ. And I have taken more time to listen to him since Mark & Lard have left. His best moments have to be the celeb calls (especially with the Roy Walker one :)). Also I think he did a good job on the "Sunday Surgery" after September 11th (the Sunday after the Tuesday it happened), so he got a lot of credit for that.

Radio 1 2005

1. Mark & Lard left  so in place it is... Chris Moyles! 8)

2. Scott Mills

3. Spoony
I just couldn't think of anyone better to replace Mills in the 3rd place.

I think Moyles was better at 3pm after Mark & Lard (perfect schedule), because of his features and the competition he got from MnL. But now there is no-one who can match (although Mills can sometimes) Moyles on Radio 1, he has no-one to compete with. Still rather him in the mornings than Sara Cox though *shudders*, lovely (!) This weekend she was talking about people farting & burping at the same time... just while you are sitting down for afternoon lunch!

Based on natural ability, Moyles will always be on top, but on terms of show content and entertainment (at this current moment in time), Mills pips the post.

Moyles needs to get rid of those jazz jingles, come up with some stonking amazing features, get back to 2004 styley and he'll be top top again.

Try going back to 2001/02. I think Mark & Lard were constantly watching him keeping him on track. I guess he must of felt intimidated at times, but it kept him at his best, I dont thnk Colon & Edgit know what day it is, never mind challenge Moyles...

i've never watched that. It comes under the same category as The Sopranos and 24 for me for American programmes people rave about that I just cant be bothered with.

I never thought Mark and Lard were that good in the first place. In fact they really annoyed me. Scott Mills is a highly worthy replacement, he has a lot to offer to afternoon radio and I love the introduction of Your Call.

But you just... can't...beat Christoper Moyles baby ;)

Mark and Lard's humour went straight over the heads of many radio 1 listeners who prefer there * gags far less subtle.

OK thanks, good to know. Does anyone have the cat[…]
