I haven't heard many of their solo shows. Are they ok? They'll never be as good as they were together imo.

Have heard Radcliffe's radio 2 show a few times, seems to have Noddy Holder as a guest ALL the time(or at least nearly every time I've heard it) and David Bowie a few times as well, carrying on from tradition of them being favourite guests on radio 1 I guess. Good shows, I like the Crucial Three that runs through the show in a few parts, in a similar pattern to the Cheesily Cheerful Chart Challenge :D

Not heard Riley's show, does anyone know 6extra has a listen again thing?

I usually try to hear a bit of Radcliffe. The celebrities are often more 'contributors' than just guests, Noddy Holder is the "TV reviewer" which is why he is on so regularly. He also lives around Manchester, which is convenient for the show.

It is similar in style to his old late night Radio 1 shows but he only has an hour and a half a day, which makes it a bit rushed, especially with the: news, trails, chatting to Janice Long, Crucial Three etc. filling up most of the time. He also seems to be trying to please the Radio 2 people by playing more 'gentle' music than he used to, maybe this will change when everyone has become more used to him. Sometimes he joins in when he has live music on the show, which is quite funny.

Marc Riley's show is more like Mark and Lard in it's style, but with more challenging music. There are a few comic sketches etc. too. He is better than I thought he would be his own.

Listening back makes you realise where the big void is in Radio 1's daytime schedule.
