Why was it required that 2 producers(aled/Rachael) had to go with the CMBS to Germany
By dangle78

No, unlike some people on here, I am capable of enjoying a programe, but not falling into the hero worshipping category and forgetting that the beeb is for everyon, not just CMBS fans

Each to their own. But Moyles is one of, if not the, most listened too show on BBC Radio! Why shouldnt they send him (and his team) out to cover the major event of the year. (I am in no way a footy fan, but dont see a problem).

I have never known any site where so many people join up to slag off the subject matter as they do on here.

I love Chris and have listened to him for years I certainly don't hero worship him though. I also Love JK and Joel and Scott Mills and listen to them all.

I can't see your problem. Surely Reese is there as the executive producer to oversee everything and give the orders etc...Rachel is there as Producer, to produce the show as she does. Aled is there for all the technical stuff, Joce is there to do all the running around, Matt is there to take the pictures so that we get to see what they are up to and Chris and Dave are there as the on-air talent to do what they do best and entertain us.

To me, if Aled or Rachel or even Joce weren't there it wouldn't be the same. I know they communicate well with Dom back in the UK but it still isn't the same as it would be if he were there with them.

You could ask why he has such a big production team on any day. The Beeb have been doing this stuff far longer than any commercial broadcaster and they obviously know what they're doing so let's leave them to it eh.

Don't buy a TV license then, I don't. There's feck all they can do unless you're stupid enough to let the idiots in and confess.

Then you have no right to complain about content that the BBC produces (even ignoring the fact you shouldn't be watching/listening to it.)

The beeb do a very good job, but not good enough to warrant the money they ask for a license. Its daylight robbery and anyone who pays it is a mug IMHO.

Topher, you don't need a tv license to listen to the radio.

No fair enough, but you shouldn't be watching telly. The Beeb couldn't do a job at all if everyone was like you... When you look at other broadcasters across the world, the BBC is one of the reasons to be proud to be British.

Yes admittedly, the BBC are good at what they do, no argument there. What I don't like, infact, what I detest, is that you are forced to buy a licence regardless of whether you want their service or not. You can't even buy a tv, video, or dvd recorder now without having to hand over your personal details to the beeb, I mean whats that all about?

Well presumably you can't use a video or DVD recorder unless you have a TV.

So if you buy a video or DVD recorder and your name isn't down as having a TV licence then it's obviously going to look suspicious.

So to buy a DVD recorder as a gift for someone, or to buy a television to play an Xbox on you think its okay to have to hand over personal details to a large, sometimes unscrupulous, corporation?

Buy a TV without a tuner then! and if you want to buy a dvd recorder for a friend either give them vouchers or hand over their information for the license (assuming your friends dont think the same as you and dont have one)

And by the way its not the BBC who set the cost of the license fee:
"The Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport sets the amount of the licence fee and decides who needs one and for what equipment."

In Germany Rachel will start working on the show at 5am (UK time) works until 3/4pm. We also record all the commentary of the games (going to 10pm at night) as well as putting together the Tim Gudgeon score reports. During the day German ads are recorded, world wide voices are recorded as well as interviews edited. You expect 1 person to do that all? You really are a slave driver.

Rhys is an Executive Producer, of which there is 2 for daytime, 1 for specialist and 1 for weekend. Rhys doesn't just work on CM, he also looks after JK & Joel and Scott Mills. It's a system that works very well. Have you heard how much more content there are in Radio 1 programmes over commercial radio? THAT'S why you pay your licence fee.

Why should I go out of my way to buy a tv with no tuner?

Tue and Wed are up
