Cool. I was wondering how is he Is he cool to meet fans or not really. Cause he's got an attitude and might be rude... or very unhappy. Fair enough thoug i wouldn't like to be hustled ...

Same here.

Is the hair deliberately like that Lou? If not you have a very strong case against the barber that did that to you.

I worked backstage at the Brits for a couple of years, bumped into him then but he was on the phone so couldn't chat. He was MAHOOSIVe though bigger in real life than he looks in pics!!! That was a couple of years ago now. Also saw Sara Cox, and a multitude of other celebs.

The yanks all had entourage and the brits just wondered around and chatted like normal people! Missy Elliott is Tiny, Justin Timberlake really ain't all that up close, Justin Hawkins is a cool guy and Cat Deeley really is hot in the flesh...man that was a cool job!

I used to work for a small company based in Hungerford, but my boss was well acquainted with people in larger companies (as he had worked with them in previous roles). Basically he used to be the engineer at several radio stations, back in the day when they needed them! A lot of presenters go off to set up production companies and then they came to him once he set up his engineering company.

In this particular case the company was called "Something Else" and they landed the contract to basically take a live feed, and both forward it on to some foreign stations, as well as provide equipment for other broadcasters. The other task was to record output, and then master it quickly onto CD to be "run" to one of Capital, Radio One or Radio Two. My role was to edit down the live tracks so that they could be broadcast on air on those stations :)

I got the job through meeting this guy at a radio station so was quite lucky. Other notable cool stuff was that Wise Buddah were one of our clients so met a few peeps there. As a clubber my ultimate highlight was going round to Pete Tong's house (on my own) to fix a problem he was having with an ISDN unit. That was seriously cool!

If you want a job like that basically hunt down a production company and start at the bottom. A lot of the jobs they take on are pretty crap to be honest, sound to picture stuff etc but you get the odd gem. My day to day job was hardly glamourous and was mostly office based but it was worth it just for the highlights!

I've gone on far too long now and bored a few people no doubt :P

I'd love that. Right now i'm planning to open a small internet comunity radio in Edinburgh for Polish people living in here. It's a massive project but I've got loads of support. Though i have to prepare a buisness plan and i've never done it before.
I'll have to look around for some companies that deals with acoustics. even if i had to carry cables and make coffies for the staff. I love it. I was into it since I was 9 :)

Sounds good. I love the technical stuff too .. there's something of a buzz about being involved in something most people only see from the outside, even at the lowest level...good luck with the station :)
