Due to a really stupid Radio 1 (or possibly BBC) policy, the podcast can only contain stuff that has been aired, so as a (clever, although unnecessary) work-around to add special extra bits to the podcast, Radio 1 now air the podcast early in the morning, so the podcast will indeed only contain aired material.

As for it being released on a Friday, before the show has finished, I assume that's so they don't have to change the release day of the podcast again, but because they now have to air the podcast in the morning first, it cannot contain any material from that Friday's show.

i get it now. so early in the morning they basically just play out the podcast live on the air.

so this weeks podcast is covering Monday to Thursday.

do you think next weeks podcast will go back to covering Friday - Thursday?

Yeah, that's the silly thing about it, having to go back to the Friday - Thursday thing. What they should do is compile the podcast after Friday's show, speed it up to such an extent that it only takes 10 seconds to play out, then broadcast it during a Moyles trail during say, Colin and Edith's show, and then have it available to download, in normal speed, straight after. No rules broken - everyone's a winner. Baby.

Maybe, but this way, they get payed more, because they are effectivly doing two shows. Breakfast, and half of One Click:Comedy.
