Up until Mayo left. Then Moyles started at 3.

That's where he started. And he's had various weekend shows (did he ever have a regular slot on weekend or was he just covering for people?) before landing the 4pm gig when Sara Cox went on maternity leave. He was given the show permanently, for reasons unknown, the bosses must probably and rightly thought he was better at it.

He has long been the first choice to cover the chart show, and has nearly always been the first choice to cover the breakfast show even to this day.

Did he not do take over the Saturday morning show from Jamie Theakston after he left to do acting. The show that Jamie stole from Moyles :(

Thats right! only since pupils in my class talked about it and now its all i listen to, before this i used to listen to century fm with darren procter but now its all chris!! Mills show is great to and im not a cox fan when shes on at the weekend, but equally never heard her do anything else. Has spoony always done breakfast at weekend or what else has he done?

Thanks oli

Moyles left the Saturday show voulentarily though if I remember rightly. I think you're right about that David. When Jamie left, didn't he say he was only leaving for 6 months?

Also, didn't Scott have the 1-4 slot on a Saturday at one time? If so, who did 1-4 on Sunday? I'm sure Scott wouldn't have been happy about a 7 day week.

Didn't Scott swap with Nemone (she moved to early mornings, he moved to weekends)?

I think Colin & Edith took that one. When Nemone moved to Early Breakfast in January 04, Scott took over her weekend afternoon show until he moved to Drivetime when Chappers and Dave and Edith took over Weekend Afternoons.

Doesn't actually seem that long ago now but it's 2 years this year.

Oh well, Scott certainly did the 10-1 Saturday show for a couple of months. But there was a spell where the weekend show changed every few months!

Before Spoony, Nemone did early breakfast. And before that it was Mark Goodier on a Saturday and Kevin Greening on a Sunday. I remember Kevin Greenings Sunday show consisted with lots of highlights from the past week of Radio 1.

Saturdays of 7am Mark Goodier, 10am Moyles 1pm Emma B was good!!

I'm almost certain Scott did take over Jamies show when he left.

I used to like Mark Goodier before Moyles on a Saturday, how he did his chart preview thing. I used to follow the charts in those days, but they're too predictable now.

Yes, Scott did Saturdays 10-1 between October 2002 and March 2003. He was even the chart presenter for five weeks at the start of 03 before Wes arrived - I think they gave Nemone Monday's early breakfast though to give him a day off!

Yeah, i remember Scott doing 1-4 on a saturday. Heard a great feature, not sure of its title but some students on the 6th storey of a building were chucking their matress out the window out on the streets. From then i've associated Mills with radio for students, which is basically the market he appeals to imo.
