no, please do... all criticism is good. If you think its rubbish, why do you think that? Helps us know where to improve.

If your answer is "Gary" then we apologise, there's nothing we can do about him.

thats the shetland accent for you...

I like to think of it as an insight into Shetland life. Gary doesn't have anything interesting to say anyway, so your not missing much.

I'll see if I can get Gary to tame his accent down for the next podcast.

As he's competing with Moyles I hate to say this, but Ricky Gervais' podcast is the most amazing thing I've ever heard. It's so funny. They're on Episode 9 of 12 with new ones coming out every Monday. For the full back catalogue check here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/rickygervais

Listen out for Karl Pilkington, he's their equivalant of Dom, or in other words, a comedy genius!

Karl Pilkington is unintentional comedy genius though.

On the subject of these podcasts now, anyone else thinking that they are writing things for Karl to say now. Never seemed so on Xfm, but these podcasts seem very contrived, the Diary seems suspicious to say the least. Plus these are subject to editing as well, whereas they used to be live. Still funny, don't get me wrong, but it makes me wonder

I was wondering the same thing earlier with the diary thing. They used to say that they never scripted their radio show, which was very easy to beleive, but these podcasts do seem a little more planned. As for being edited, it's certainly possible that they record a longer show and take out the less humourous bits.

The thing which really stood out was in last week's podcast when they started to talk about the diary Karl wrote on holiday, then Steven asked if they could read it - and he conviniently had it with him. Could be coincidence, but I seriously doubt it.

Seen those before, wouldn't be hard to fake though would they?

I know, but why bother faking them? Surely it would have been easier to not put them on the website if they were fake.

People will say its fake either way. If they are fake, it just adds to this image that has been built up about Karl. I still believe it is an entirely contrived feature, although I do believe Karl is still an idiot in real life.

Even if it is fake, it is funny and they are doing well to make it sound spontanious. I think listening to Karl from the first one they did, he may be weird enough to do something like that actually!

If you listen to Ricky followed by Chris' breakfast show, it seems incredibly scripted, almost to the point that it's not funny whatsoever. I understand both will have main points to talk about and general outlines of their shows but every joke on the Moyles' show seems to have a placing, whereas the others are real comedy pros. Dom to me is the only one who brings humour that isn't planned.

The thing about the Moyles podcast is, it's edited heavily to include just the really good bits. And to the extent even the links are edited down, so its not the whole show, and its not the whole links, with bits chopped here and there... so the end result for the podcast is, it sounds scripted.

I'm talking about the entire shows. I've listened to EVERY minute of every day's show for just over a year now, so I'm not saying I don't like his show, but every since I've listened since hearing Gervais' show, I have a different opinion of it. I seem to notice more jokes been conveniently placed and actually predict a few of them coming. Gervais' show don't include that many jokes but even still, they take ideas and run with them, rather than stick to certain points and move on

Chris has to do 5 shows a week. Gervais has to do one a week for about 12 weeks at a time. Gervais' show would be more predictable if he did as many shows as Chris
