The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Once the caller has got to three though, isn't he automatically the winner? Why go on to play an extra round? and how many questions did he need to get right to be the winner in that?

(I only heard todays and have never seen Blockbusters).

I didn't really get it. The questions were also very kind of, serious. CPC - the clues were often very funny and produced good moments outside of the stupid callers and Roy clips. Can't see that happening on Beep Beep Busters.

I am prepared to give it time though, it's only early days.

Yeah but if the caller doesn't get three I'd imagine they don't stay on to the next day.

you've never seen Blockbusters? I'd have thought EVERYONE would have seen that.

Because its the famous end of the show, unlike any other.

I agree with that 100%, the questions are too sensible and don't offer any oppertunity for stupid callers to mess them up.

Beep Beep Busters ala Viaduct might be funnier!

It's no secret that the texts were mixed - but then as Chris said the texters were bored of CPC. Plus, our audience hate change but get bored quickly. So how do you replace a very popular feature that's been on for two years with a host that's had a revival - largely due to his hosting CPC without annoying the audience?

Have we done it right? What would you have done differently?

Aled

I would have thought if they were bored of CPC then replacing it with a similar feature would make no difference to them. Especially as others have mentioned it seems to lack the potential to be funny. The best bits of CPC were the stupid callers.

I understand people hate change, but if there isn't change it will become stale. Sometimes it's best to quit whilst it's good and try a new idea, like what should have happened really with Viaduct, when it was brought back it wasn't as good as remembered.

It's early days though...

Yeah. The way it is now, it's just another general knowledge quiz, not a million miles away from the Pub Quiz really but with easier (more boring) questions and a lack of the team participation. And of course, it's missing the potential comedy element, which was the best part of CPC.

I don't mind the whole "taking an existing TV game show format and doing it on the radio", but Blockbusters doesn't really work, it's too standard. I'm just having a look at UKGameshows.com and seeing if something else could work. Maybe Crystal Maze could work, although it could be a bit too long. You could maybe follow in the footsteps of DLT and do a snooker or darts quiz in the style of Big Break or Bullseye. Or rip off Mark and Lard and do Countdown!

OK, just listened to the first one (my internet has been down for days) and it's ok and has potential to be good, but there are still a few problems.

Firstly, don't bring the person next day. It just seems a bit pointless since there aren't any prizes and the questions aren't that good.

Next, don't do the gold run. Seems just like an excuse for the G-spot gag and as pointed out before the caller has already won. Maybe use some of the gold run clues mixed in within the normal questions. Like the normal ones are worth 1 point and gold run worth 2 - so have both callers do both rounds - although that might make it too quizzy.

Overall - OK but not perfect

I thought the original idea was going to be silly questions or impossible questions like the true or false game they used to play on early mornings.

I find it quite hilarious that there are more members of the team than then the roman army, yet no-one was capable of coming up with a half decent competition idea.

I'm not saying its easy but surely the collective experience of the team meant they could created something a little more entertaining.

That would have been good. True Or False was hilarious.

I agree, is this and Celebrity Tarzan really the best they can do?

I think BBB will be a good feature, it's already started to grow on me. Celebrity Tarzan, on the other hand, is a weird feature, not bad, but not necessarily good either.

If there really is any fundemental difference between Carpark Catchphrase and Beep Beep Busters, i'm struggling to see it.

Maybe this is supposed to be the joke...

Top notch insult there. I'm not really one of those fans who's mentality is "let's diss a Leeds fan because I'm from Bradford". That's the sort of stuff that belongs in football, and I'm suprised you went for such a low blow.
