Oh how I wish they had listened to your sage advice, they couldda put Gobby.... I mean Sara Cox on it or something, it'd still be hated but she wouldn't end up on every damn show as a guest.

I notice Moyles used to have Wes phone in on a monday morning for the top10 rundown, but he hasn't since the chuckle bros started, possibly a bit before that. Wonder why....

er Chris stopped having Wes on the phone with the chart rundown well over six months ago.

They agreed he was dull so did it themselves for a bit and then just dropped it altogether. In the end more of a reflection on the fact no one gives a monkeys about the chart I think.

Now that downloads are being incorporated in the normal chart, will there still be the other download chart on a wednesday?

It does seem a bit silly to me incorporating downloads. That means a really old song could get to number 1 purely on downloads.

but it would be a more accurate chart.... seeing as the music industry has FINALLY caught on the the power and popularity of downloading.

Took them bloody long enough...... and they still havent really made CDs any cheaper... the 1s that are like £1.99 now are just 2 tracks... and I havent seen as many CDs with videos on lately as there used to be.

The price of CD singles is ridiculous, i seem to pay around £5 or so for most of mine, and they often contain only one track (plus useless remixes) with no video. Waiting for the album to come out seems to be the only sensible option where CDs are concerned. :?

£5 for a single? Do you shop at Harrods?

Even HMV ain't charging that much, except maybe for Amarillo and other charity releases. Amarillo is the only single lately that I know for a fact had video on the disc.

T'is true though, the singles I have bought lately seemed to have 2 editions, one about £1.99 that was just 2 tracks then 4 track singles range from £3-£5.

I didn't think they were allowed to have more than 3 traks on them.

Yeah - you used to be able to have 4 tracks, but then they changed the rules to 3, so that's why most singles have 2 editions now

Remember that catchy dance song that was released on Fat Boy Slims label that was all set to be a high new entry. However the record company accidently put 4 tracks on the single and it couldn't be counted?

Thats the whole credos of the BIG record companies (i.e the ones who CAN afford to give you value for money) anyways isn't it? In this case I doubt they'd have a problem with it as they have the option many have taken to release alternate editions etc.

I remember there being a problem with the brilliant slashdotdash, they didn't have permission to use a sample, so they substituted for a very similar one, but it was never the same for those of us who had heard the superior original version (it was played for a few weeks on r1 before they swapped versions).
