Just for clarification.......
Airwolf is indeed no longer with us. When the show was cancelled after its third season, all the fake body parts were taken off it, and it was sold to a German air service. In 1991, the 'Airwolf' Bell 222 was used to transport a young girl to a burns unit; on the return flight, it got caught in a thunderstorm and crashed. You can read about it at
http://www.airwolf.org
Airwolf's body parts and prop guns are currently in the possesion of my friend Clark Van Hoten, who has TONS of Airwolf collectables and props. Swing by
http://www.airwolfthemes.com where you can download a PDF of Clark's Airwolf trip around the US; among other things, you'll see the body parts there. You can also order the new Airwolf posters and WORKING replica Helmets there.
For the true Airwolf fans among you, Clark wrote The Second Airwolf Merchandise Guide, and is now writing 'The Wolf's Lair' magazine, available at
http://www.airwolf.tv
I myself am currently co-writing the Airwolf Technical Manual; when it does eventually get finished, the news will be posted at
http://www.airwolf.org.
There were two Gazelles done up for Blue Thunder, and they were probably de-converted like Airwolf was. The only remaining BT is the non-flying mock-up on display at the MGM backlot, and it's in a bad way....and I mean bad; paint almost gone, tail section removed, rotors gone, gun turret gone, cameras hanging off...... A search of Google, or a quick check of the BT forum at
http://www.tv-series.com should turn up some photos of it.
Somebody mention Ecto 1-A? It's on display at Universal Studios Florida; again, in bad condition...US aren't looking after it. I'm currently helping Cars of The Stars museum, Keswick obtain the car so it can be looked after properly. It wouldn't surprise me if one or more of Moylsie's cars have come from COTS.
When's Moyles coming to Newcastle? I want to go down with a camera, take a few photos. I missed Moylsie last time he was in Newcastle...think I'll go down, and represent the Airwolf Forum.
That, and tell KITT face to face that it always was the SECOND BEST 80's super-vehicle
