It rocked. That thing "Jurgen Klinsmann" to the tune of dad's army is crap. It's the same words apart from they've swapped Mr Hitler with Jurgen Klinsmann.

Mind you, have you seen/heard the Hamilton's efforts?

Does this mean it could get into the charts?
By wildthing
#234011

No, it wont. It will qualify to get into the download chart, but unless it comes out on CD as well it wont get into the Top 40 proper.

there is no seperate download chart. Downloads as well as CD's sold determine whether a song gets into the top 40 or not.
Otherwise how did Gnarls Barkely get to number one when it was only on download for the first week!

Because now the rules are that a download alone can go into the top 40 a week before it's CD release. If there is no CD relase, it's not elligable. And there IS still a download chart - take a peek here

actually reading what the original question was...
Does this mean it could get into the charts?

...it will get at least (according to what fish heads said) get into the download chart. So yes it will is the answer to the original question.

Yeah, but Moyles has already had a number 1 download single, so it's no big whoop.

Hello all at Chrismoyles.net!

I'm Sandy Beech, the guy who runs the company that makes all Chris's jingles (Music 4) and of course the now infamous 'Chris Moyles World Cup Song'.

Just reading this thread and I think I maybe able to answer some questions. The song can't become a 'real chart entry' because there is no CD release planned, but can go high in the download chart with all your support! By the way, Chris is not making any money out of the song before you ask.

The track is distributed to tons of on-line music stores by Universal Music. It's up to each site how they deal with the track but Napster are really getting behind it and will be featuring it on their front page next week. The guy who runs Napster in the UK is the same chap that hired Chris for Radio 1 (Jeff Smith). He's a top bloke!

No news on iTunes yet but fingers crossed. Our website (music4.com) will have all the up to date info on where the track is available and I appreciate all you guys spreading the word.

Also on our site, you'll be able to hear all the updated Moyles jingles there too as we make them (the ones we made on Sunday will be up tomorrow). You'll also hear some that probably won't make it to air.

Er, that's enough for now I think. Finally big thanks to Chris Harris for his hard work spreading the word of Moyles.

Thanks for that insight Sandy!

On one of my tapes of Moyles from yesteryear (1998), Chris tells a story about Jeff Smith!

Cheers Sandy. A very good insight, as David said.

Very good of you to join up and share that info with us, as most people would be scared away by us lot!

The official world cup song is amazing. It doesn't have any talk about lager or currie so the white van driving chav supporters don't take to it. Nickleson wearing numpties!

Chavs don't drive vans, they just hang about on street corners, smoke rollups, drink tennents special and use up the world's oxygen.

If we reduced the supplies of the above materials to them, they may go away. Let's start with oxygen. ;)

Felt I should do my bit to help it in the charts, so did my first download from Tesco (woo!)

Good work Sandy
