Hi all you Moyles fans...

I used to enjoy Chris Evans in the morning, so I'm sure I'll be fine with Chris there, although I stopped listening when Zoe Ball took over, and Sara Cox was even worse!

But like a lot of you I won't be around at that time of the morning, so from a totally selfish point of view - leave him where he is

Chris Moyles and Mark & Lard are the only 2 shows I try to listen to on R1 these days, mainly cos I like the humour - but also any show that has long links means less music from the generally crappy playlist.

When not tuned into those shows I like R2 - Alex Lester & Jeremy Vine(when i'm on early shift) and Terry Wogan when I can catch him (don't knock him till you've listened - it's a funny show too - with the sort of music you want at that time of the day)...

CHRIS Moyles has spoken for the first time about taking over the flagship Radio1 Breakfast Show from Sara Cox  - and insists it will do wonders for his sex life.

The 29-year-old DJ insists the early nights - and earlier starts - will get his love-life with Top Of The Pops researcher Sophie Waite back on track.

The couple have been dating for two years, but Leeds-born Chris says they are like ships that pass in the night.

And last night, Chris revealed: "I'm chuffed to be doing the Breakfast Show. It's f****** ace. And it's brilliant for me and Sophie.

"She gets tired at 10pm anyway and I usually stay up and watch the West Wing until 2am, so it's better as she'll actually get to see me, as we'll go to bed at the same time."

But then Chris joked: "Obviously separate rooms, by the way. I'm a devoted Roman Catholic so there's none of that funny business."

and for people worried the show will be a lot different at breakfast...

Moyles insists the breakfast format will be similar to his afternoon slot.

He said: "To be honest, I don't see it being any different to what we do now. There's no point in changing it that much because if they think we're good enough at what we do, it would be silly to come out with a brand new style.

"There will still be the team, me, Comedy Dave, Rachel and Aled, so we'll be doing what we do in the afternoons - we'll just sound tired!"

Turned on the Radio this morning to hear Vernon has joined Radio1.

In that news story however it does say:

Meanwhile, Radio 1 bosses have dismissed as speculation reports that presenting duo Mark Radcliffe and Mark Riley are to be moved to Radio 2.

Known to listeners as Mark and Lard, the pair have been at Radio 1 since 1993.

A Radio 1 spokesman said a report on the Media Guardian website that they were set to move to Radio 2 next year was just "speculation", and that they have a contract with the network until 2005.

Mark and Lard were given the prestigious breakfast show in 1997, following the departure of Chris Evans.

But even they realised their brand of wit was not suited to early mornings and they were moved to their present afternoon slot after seven months.

He might know about a specific period in the late 80s and early 90s but he isn't exactly on the cutting edge, people like Christian O'Connell would be able to tell you about new bands no one as heard of etc. He doesn't have a particularly good general knowledge of music either (i.e. before the 80s) Dave knows a little more but still not like a database.

Did you see him on the Buzzcocks?
