Lets hope so.
Having listened to the show for six years, I think it doesn't take a genius to work out it's at its funniest when its spontaneous. Random links that turn into moments of genius/brilliant rants are the Moyles trademark. I dont like features ruining that flow..
However, if the quality of these links isnt particularly good/amusing (as in my opinion currently) then I think the more features the better - and the more features with listener interaction the better. Scott Mills won the Sony for best interactive programme last year - and there are barely moments in his show where he hasn't got a caller on the line. Obviously that hasn't been Chris's style for the last few years, but at the moment we have one caller per show on Celebrity Tarzan and thats it.
The new ideas that kicked off 2006 on the show were Celebrity Tarzan and BBB. Both haven't worked. Bar that we have two features: Tedious Link (a feature for almost FOUR years) and Ramble, which is essentially what the other links are anyway - just in its own feature. Slightly odd.
I would love to see a funny, more interactive game to replace BBB - in the mould of True or False, Viaduct and Carpark Catchphrase (three of the greatest Moyles features ever). Btw yes I understand it isn't easy to come up with these type of features, but Dave has it in him.
