He's Radio 1's primary sports reporter. Football is a sport. They are in Germany for the world cup in football.

Since Carrie was allowed to go, even though she has a complete lack of understanding about any sport, Chappers should also be allowed to go.

The merits of having either of them there are questionable, but Chappers deserves to be their ahead of Carrie.

But why Radio 1 needs seperate sports and news journalists is beyond me, Dom could easily do the sport as well as the news and contribute a lot more on air than Carrie can.

Have what? In what way am I "blinkered"? Chappers is probably the most recognisable of all Radio 1 sports reporters, if not the highest in terms of position which i mistakenly said.

Just because someone is 'sent out to the most events', doesn't make them higher up, surely. If the BBC broadcasts from outside 10 Downing Street they send one of their reporters - that surely doesn't put them in a higher position than the reporter in the studio, if anything I'd have said the studio reporter holds the higher status?
