Found this Interview on the X Factor website (possibly could be useful for site?):
Why did you want to take part in the series?
Well it is either because I love the show, Simon Cowell is my idol or because I have got a book to promote – I’ll let you decide.
How is the vocal training going?
Very well actually, I am working with a man from America with multi-coloured hair (Mark Hudson) who doesn’t know who the hell I am. We have chosen several songs most of which are instrumentals so they should go down very well.
Which of the judges are you most nervous facing?
Sharon, because if you upset her then you upset Ozzy, and that’s a complete No-No as he is a God.
Which judge would you like to be your mentor?
I’m not too bothered as I am sure I would feel the love from all of them.
Are you terrified about singing live?
No – I am terrified of dying and World War 3 so in context I guess you could say I was a little apprehensive.
How will you react to the judges if they give you negative comments?
I won’t be too upset - as long as I get to plug my book that is out in October and my radio (weekdays from 7am on Radio 1) show then I’ll be happy.
What past singing experience have you got?
Well I like to sing in the shower and have many years experience of singing in the bath – one of the other areas where I am very competent is my rendition of Happy Birthday – all in all I am feeling pretty confident.
Who would be most surprised if you were to win the competition?
I think I would be – I have set my sights on coming 4th. 5th would be a bitter disappointment but 4th would be a dream come true.
What do your friends/family/colleagues think of you taking part?
They think it will be cringeworthy and hilarious in equal measure.
Do you come from a musical family?
No I come from a Moyles family. I am half Irish though so obviously I like to sing after a few drinks.
What is your karaoke song?
I can’t tell you as I plan to use it on the show and I don’t want Paul Daniels to steal it.
Who is your singing inspiration/favourite artists?
Celine Dion, Mariah Carey and Natasha from Atomic Kitten in that order.
How does taking part in this competition compare to your normal job?
My normal job doesn’t involve me singing badly for two minutes in front of 8 million people looking like a t*t – so quite different really.
What scares you most; the thought of singing live or the judges’ comments?
By far the scariest thought is singing live – that Louis Walsh is unlikely to come up with any comments that are really going to upset me is he?
Other than the vocal training have you been doing any of your own preparations?
I have been upsetting my neighbours by singing loudly in my flat in preparation for upsetting millions by singing badly on the telly.
Would you have applied for The X Factor if you weren’t famous?Well it is called Celebrity X Factor so if I wasn’t famous it might have been a bit tough to get in…
Are you in it to win it or is the taking part that counts?!
As I said it is 4th I am aiming for, any less would be a crushing disappointment.
What other projects are you currently working on?
Have I mentioned that I have got a book coming out in October? and my radio show – The Chris Moyles Show Radio 1 weekdays from 7am.
