Wes Butters, the former BBC Radio 1 chart show DJ, is returning to his native Manchester to host the Galaxy breakfast show.
His first permanent position since losing the Radio 1 slot in February to Jason Griffith and Joel Hogg sees him return to Chrysalis's dance music network.
Salford-born Butters was the breakfast presenter on Galaxy's Newcastle station before joining Radio 1.
He replaces replaces Nicksy, who presented the breakfast show for five years, and co-host Lynsey Horne, who are leaving the station. The third breakfast crew member, "Irish Alan" Toner will remain on the show.
