Have they started some new trailers for the show? I've just caught one during "Radio1's Big Weekend" and it features the Chris Moyles jingle.

If it is then it's very good. Shows they're working on the show after a little dismal ratings.

Yes there has. But there've incorporated the Music4 jingle into them.

I thought they always did?

Time to drop the "jazz" jingles now anyway. They sound awful and are very rarely funny anymore... new ideas needed.

Hmm perhaps they did, lol, but they've put the vocal bit in as well now I think. Ah well, sounded better at the time...

Yeah I agree, I was listening back to the Euro 2004 jingles and last year's and they were much better. I think some new jingles is something that the show needs.

I also think they should do some more television ads. Just turned on BBC One and saw a Terry Wogan / BBC Radio 2 ad. No wonder they have great ratings.

I thout Moyles had put on listeners.

From a BBC online article:

BBC Radio 1's breakfast show host Chris Moyles has added 240,000 listeners, to take his audience to 6.17 million.

none of the jingles rhyme anymore.

the sunderland one doesnt work.
the top of the pops one doesnt work.
the "they're all lovely" one doesnt work.

Which is a hell of a lot to lose. But last year I think there was a small decrease at some time around now. Can't remember though.

I agree with David, one the reasons for the jingles being rubbish are they aren't as tongue in cheek. Like the Swiss one for Euro 2004: "...the countries full of bankers"

OK thanks, good to know. Does anyone have the cat[…]
