Good luck Ian and thank you for uploading the 40th anniversary special, I had that one at one point (can't remeber where I had got it from though) and lost it so it'll be nice to hear again

Thanks Johnny :) Yeah it was a bit surreal with Moyles and Blackburn presenting together, but Moyles seems to be good at that kind of thing.

Yeah from what I heard of it last time they did team up very well, weird to think at the 50th anniversary if Chris appears on the special show then he'll have Blackburn's role on it that time round

Bad news. We won't be able to get hold of any CD's after all, due to copyright issues. It's a shame, but at least we've since discovered that we will eventually have a complete Breakfast Show archive anyway.

That's a huge shame since I would have liked to hear more afternoon shows but we will have a full breakfast show archive nonetheless!

Huge shame, although considering Aled still works for the BBC I can understand why he couldn't get any out for us. Oh well let's just hope the BBC doesn't do a Doctor Who to the Moyles archive in a few years time

Yeah I know. A fair few of us have the full archive anyway, and other people should consider doing it too in case the unthinkable happened (even though we license-fee payers should have every right to own it really). There's no way I'm giving it up after all the work I've done on it :)

Thank you :D

Shame about the CDs. But I'm glad we have all the breakfast shows to listen to whenever we want.

Yeah I should really start doing it too, have loads of unedited shows at least and have redownloaded a lot of the afternoon shows whilst at work

Re: Chris Moyles Radio Archive (Discussion & Request Thread)

Postby Johnny 1989 » Sun Sep 23, 2012 7:36 pm

Some good news and some bad news, I have found six more vintage tapes that we don't have in the archive however unfortunately they are incomplete.

The shows I have found all have "Done" wrote on the tapes however they all seem to be missing from the archive, so if anyone wants to check their archives the shows I have are:

Friday 3rd November 2000 (last 15 mins missing only)
Saturday 11th November 2000* (first half only)
Wed 14th March 2001 (first half only)
Friday 27th April 2001 (first half only)
Friday 11th May 2001 (first half only)
Friday 22nd June 2001 (first half only)

Now at present I have no laptop, and when I get a new one I'll need to buy a seperate amp for the "in line" for the tape player (my last laptop didnt have one so I assume these are only included on desktop PC's) so it'll be a while before I can copy these again (I can only imagine I taped them once and never edited them in tne end, unless they were done and have been missed off in the current archive?) Anyone interested in hearing these incomplete shows in the near future?

Also Ben/Nicola, the one of the Capital FM shows has been labelled up wrong, it should by Saturday 8th March 1997 not the 9th as currently listed (probably me listing it incorrectly in the first place)

*This was one of the first ones I edited and Chris kindly hosted it for me in "The Vault" section of the website, however my editing skills were shite back then so I'll re-record this one and will re-edit it once copied.

Hi guys

Total newbie to the site (see how many posts) but have had a search around, but couldn't find a response to this.

Is there anyway to get FULL downloads of all the shows? (e.g...Uneditted, with all the music in too)

Cheers

Thought I'd point out a couple of things regarding the Mark & Lard side of the archive.

Firstly it seems as if the only proper breakfast show in the archive is no longer available for download, I was just wondering if anyone had it at all please?

Secondly a bit of bad news unfortunately due to American Authorities Megaupload was closed down earlier this year so their entire archive was wiped! I think however I may have several shows on my old laptop, which I never got round to editing so when I get my new laptop and my Hard Drive dock I may be able to salvage them.

Thirdly I have many Radcliffe and Maconie shows from their first day on BBC Radio 6 Music, up until 2-3 months ago and I believe their last 3-6 months on Radio 2, I just wanted to know if anyone was interested in these shows at all, I know both Ian & Nicola have said they're interested in editing them however I don't want to send them to them if nobody is interested so please let me know if you are and once I have my new laptop I'll get on getting these distributed for editing

Was all the M&L stuff we had on megaupload? None of it on IA?

ETA: just tried a couple of links and they are on IA. So what was on megaupload?...

Apologies I was a bit unclear, the stuff I mean was the Graveyard Slot shows of which several I edited and uploaded, the original blog/website that had them all lost their entire archive, however I manged to download quite a few but have yet to edit them :)

One show is missing tho, their only Radio 1 breakfast show in our archive, it was hosted on another site however the file has been removed for copyright reasons. Do you or anyone here have that show at all please as I never downloaded it for some reason

What was the date of the M&L Radio 1 show? I have four M&L R1 mp2 files, which are 1st Mar 04 to 4th Mar 04. And then I have a load of mp3's, downloaded from the archive. I also noticed that on the M&L archive discussion thread archive list, there are three missing - 19970730.mp3, 20040322.mp3, 20040323.mp3 - but I don't know if that's the official archive thread, or the discussion thread, or both.

There's two threads, my original one which is the discussion one (which to be fair has dropped down due to my lack of editing/updates) and the actual archive in the Full Shows section, the 19970730 one is definately missing/wiped from it's original link, so a reuploading of that would be great, the other two are also missing, theres also another show 2003-08-22 which I found on Internet Archive, however unfortunately due to limitations of this sodding "smart" phone I can't link it here, however might be a new one to add to the archive

Just found the link to the 2003-08-22 show:

Http://archive.org/details/2003-08-22-M ... cEditedOut

Also loads more from their final month:

http://archive.org/details/MarkLard2004edited

Do we want to credit and add these to our archive too?

(copied this post also into the M&L discussion thread to)

I think I may have control of that thread. If so can it be handed over to someone else. The moyles one takes up enough time as it is.

Ok I'll upload those these then:

19970730.mp3
20040322.mp3
20040323.mp3

I'll post the links to those new IA shows too if you want. I think we might as well.

I can't control he thread at the moment though, too busy. At least while I have Moyles shows still to edit.
