That baby went down a bit too easy for my liking.

Took a bigger bump than a ref too, massive over-sell.

Really enjoying the success that team GB has had today. It's great to see our athletes win as it means so much to them and the majority don't make any money from the sport they compete in.

Didn't you say that a Bronze wasn't worth cheering? :P

I said win. We won two gold medals today and that deserves high praise from the nation. A bronze medal shouldn't be celebrated as success though, I stand by that statement. It's why the Americans and Chinese do so well at the Olympics because they don't accept just taking part and enjoying being there, they are raised from a young age to win and to know how important it is to be the best. Our kids are taught in school that winning isn't important and its all about fun. While its important to have fun whilst playing sport it should also equally important to teach kids that being competitive and wanting to win is a positive thing. My daughters school is a prime example of how things are at the moment. They have cancelled sports day two years running due to the fear of injury or that the children get too competitive and it's disgusting.

It's still quite something to be able to progress so much that you can compete at an Olympic level, though.

I'd disown anyone I knew who only won a bronze. The lazy sods, should have tried harder.

Don't get me wrong it's incredible to be an athlete at the top level competing at the olympics. It's very much a British thing to be happy with second best, I call it Tim Henman syndrome.

As furious as I am for not believing in myself enough to stick money on Wiggins for Sports Personality before the Tour, today was brilliant to see. History made with British women's rowing and Wiggins becoming the most decorated British Olympian of all time with a win that exemplifies his dominance in his field. What he's achieved this year is absolutely massive and I've nothing but respect for him.

My girlfriend has been offered at least two pupilages at legal chambers (one from Blackstone, who are apparently a massive deal) for next year (today is the decision date). Given that it's very competitive, and good to even get one offer, I'm extremely proud :D

Making me smile today...

I had a massive geekgasm upon realising it was 30 years of the Commodore 64 yesterday, I grew up with one of these, even wrote some of my first ever computer programs on one! I still have mine in the original packaging, but I thought I'd fire up the emulator and play a few classics I used to love when I was younger (warning, serious geek pending....):

Wowzers, is it really. I too used to have, and love, a C64. Although, had the Vic20 before that too....

Arkanoid, revenge.... of Doh?!!! (is that Homer related?!)

Paperboy was ace, if a little frustrating.

Haha, it came out in 1987 so I think it pre-dates The Simpsons by a year! It was an awesome game though, a breakout clone but so much better!

I have Arkanoid (or a new version of it) on my phone. I like to play while I have a poo.
