Yes, there is a chance. Everyone wants to know what's next. There is a considerable amount of dust been thrown up in the air by this week's announcement, we need to let it settle before decisions like that are taken - including an actual end date. We don't have that yet.

Excuse the assumption Aled - but it sounds like this was a surprise to a lot of people, very close hand people aswell, and not a lot of 'post CMS' plans have been made for a lot of people. I know you probably won't answer but was the decision taken by the whole team? I'd think you would have a mutual understanding of '1 out, all out' afer so many great years together?

And to add to the millions of messages, you've been a part of my daily routine since 2005 - getting me through my commute to work everyday. Things won't be the same without hearing you all together every morning, but I look forward to seeing what you all do next :)
Stay safe. Word up. And avoid the drizzle

I noticed on twitter yesterday (11/07/12) that Freya was asking if she could go back to Sara Cox from the 21st September 2012? That seems like a very random date if you don't know when it will end.

Aled, can you say how long you've all known?

Known different levels of leaving at different times (that is we knew it would be soon-ish). Chris and Ben were talking, we knew September quite recently. When the decision was made it moved very quickly.

The conversation was Ben and Chris'. We knew what the conversations were about, but the show is so all consuming you can't really plan for future stuff while doing it.

That is one of the dates being discussed. We're looking at a handful of dates but they're all around then.

Ah. O.k. Thankyou for answering and remaining here. I thought you might stay away from here as a kind of media shut down. It's good to know that your still willing to answer are questions even at this cunfusing time (More for you and the team than for any of us).

Aled, I know it's some way off but for the last show would you personally prefer an in studio show or an outside broadcast? Possibly a mini Moyles concert type thing.

Aled,

Just want to note how well this has gone as a 'event' with so much grace and dignity. Well done to all involved.

As a listener, surely you will br pushing to stay until September 28th? 1st October new month, new breakfast etc

In terms of timings, was it clear the end was coming after chris signed up to Jesus Christ? Stringing innuendo and facts together I assume the decision was taken together? Or did Chris sit you all down in a meeting and tell you all the 'end was coming' months ago but the date came together on the Monday?

Can I also take this opportunity to thank you. It's been amazing and really has changed my life. I was a 13 year old boy when the show began and now am a 22 year old graduate going off into the big wide world. I feel like I know you all better then some of my best friends. So thank you. Make it special as well, won't you? I know you won't let me down!

Yes

This is fantastic news! Aled, you are the best!

Whoever the tapes/minidiscs/CDs/whatever go to, please make archival quality recordings using a FLAC or similar lossless codec (even if you don't distribute them), as well as the usual MP3s. A friend of mine is behind other archival projects and may be able to help if required.

To echo a thought posted above, thanks for continuing to be willing to answer our questions at this time Aled. You are, and always have been, very good in that regard when there is no obligation for you to do so at all, and your offer to hand the shows over the site is amazing. If there's going to be a Chris Moyles Show Team Awards Ceremony (and I think there should be) then you would definitely win the 'Licky Licky Brown Nose Award' for going above and beyond what is expected of you in terms of your services to the CMS! :) I won't clutter up this thread with my extensive thoughts on the show ending and praise for you all, I'll save that for elsewhere, but suffice to say here that yesterday was a sad day for me and I will miss the team and the show greatly.

Hi Aled!
First of all, I wanted to say big thanks for your contribution to show and to all your team. I'm listener from Latvia and I have been listening to Chris Moyles show for only 2 years. But the show has somehow changed the way I "feel" and "hear" the radio. I work at our local university's radiostation and last year, after your fabulous record breaking marathon show, we did the same (radio's longest show ever), only - 12 hours. Of course, it's not that much, but this year we topped that and did it again - 24 hours and broke our local - Latvian record. Your show was inspiration to us (we even played some highlights from it and used some jingles, that were cut and "localized" for our "24 hour record-breaking marathon show" with my voice, http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19388897/24stunda.mp3 - here it says, that it's Hour 24, hope that it wasn't something illegal, we are just community radio and I really loved that "feel" in the jingle package "Longest show ever" had).
But not only that, the whole show feels... just... good and warm, you know... even if i'm from another country, person with different values, culture and so on...
Send regards to whole team from one of BBC R1's morning show's listeners here on Latvia!

Paldies! ("thanks" in Latvian)

I'd personally prefer a studio show.

We do Outside Broadcasts well but for me they're different kind of shows. I'd like our last show to be well crafted and to do it well rather than dealing with other things like mic quality, communication between team / new guests etc.

Not against a mini Moyles concert at all - but not for the last show itself

oh wow, thank you. Your message just proves to me there's going to be a lot of tears before the end of our show. Sept 28th is just a date like any other - having it fall at the end of a month isn't really a strong enough reason when weighed against a lot of other factors (one of which being that Chris will have started Jesus Christ Superstar!)

The detail on the last few weeks will come out in time through one if not many autobiographies or interviews, I think I should leave those details for then (and for when the media's turned their attention away from the story!)

I'm afraid all I'm able to offer is WAVs of the show. If someone PMs me a list of missing shows I'll see what I can do. The same goes for podcasts if needed.

Top man. I have to say that for me, yes I am sorry to see the end of Breakfast, but I'm excited about what comes next. Its great to see Chris moving into things he probably never dreamed he would have a chance to do, and another show in the offing (can't wait!), its great that Dave is branching out and we all know you'll never be anything other than busy - perhaps now is the time to look at an Executive Producer role for you?! I am worried about Dom though! I know he isn't employed by the BBC any more, and he is the only one of the freelancers that I haven't got any clue where he will go next!

Seriously though, thanks to you all, its been a blast but to me, it feels the right time. The "new" feel at R1 will never be a fit for Chris, not on Breakfast anyway, he'll be too constrained. Onwards and upwards all!

Well played.

Hi Aled,

Long time listener, first time caller.

As the show is coming to an end, will the issue of what really happened in Portugal ever be dicussed on air?

WAVs themselves (provided they're at 1411kbps) are the same quality as FLAC anyway, albeit HOOGE! I'd imagine we'd need a pretty beefy hard drive!

I did ask this before Aled, but as things have suddenly happened this week I thought I'd chance my arm again: In addition to the tapes, I don't suppose you have all the Golden Hour track listings? :)

Congratulations on everything you guys have achieved though, massively sad to see such a big part of my life go but that's life I guess! CMS converted me from the horror that is commercial radio and I haven't really looked back since.

From yelling "RAAAAAAAAMBLLLLLLLE!" along with Dave in my car to the joy that the Golden Hour brings me, the past 8 and a bit years have been great. Thank you :)

James.

First time poster, but long time listener and have lurked on here on and off for some time.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank Aled and the rest of the team for brightening up every single day when they've been on-air. It's simply been the best radio I've ever listened to.

I agree that this is probably the right time to go out from the Radio 1 Breakfast Show, but I really hope that something else happens with Chris and the team in the not-too-distant future.

Aled, I hope you can keep us up-to-date with possible future projects, as and when you're able to.

But, sincerely, thank you.

I'm really looking forward to the final few months - especially as it seems like a weight's now been lifted. Thursday's show was back to it's cheeky best.

Oh, and if you could do the final show on Sept 28th, that would be amazing, as I've already got the day off work
