No reason why not, I did it with the 2010 World Cup ones and the marathon show. If the recording comes out OK, I'll upload it. If there's a PIP version on the website, I might not be able to grab that - that'll need someone else to do the work.

I'll try to do that. I've had success capping an RTMP stream today for the first time, so it may work, fingers crossed!

I haven't heard TCMS this week yet, I'm saving up the shows for a trip later this week -- are they doing just this match or other matches as well?

Surprised they've gone for an England game.

1. Surely they'd rather be watching it properly, just like most fans will want to.
2. Fewer people likely to tune in because of the game having importance and wanting to watch it properly.

Picture in Picture where you actually see Chris and Dave doing the commentary in the corner of the screen.

See. I knew it was dumb question. :-)
Is there a chance that just the audio will be uploaded? I can add them to my world cup commentary aldum on my i-tunes library then (I like to have them in one place and probably re-name the album football instead of world cup commentaries though). Helllooo (In a geeky voice).

If the video gets uploaded then I'm sure it will be an easy job to quickly convert it to mp3. I'll do it if nobody else does.

I am very much looking forward to hearing the commentary and hopefully it will be uploaded here as I'll be off my tits at the pub on Friday night.

My thoughts entirely, as this wasn't the premise during world cup where they were trying to liven up daytime games. I don't think there would be an issue with ratings regarding England.

And yes its very surprising they gave up their freetime for this.

Something to remember though, certainly!

I do wish red button was available on iplayer though.

I watched one of their 2010 game commentaries on the Radio 1 website. I hope it is available there this time, if so I will definitely be watching. That person who texted about them having ordered pizza last time and what would Chris eat this time since he is eating so healthy. I think he will indulge in pizza again to enjoy them doing commentary again.

I'm sure I can record the match with the Moyles commentary from my Freeview, in fact I plan to anyway so I can watch the match with normal commentary first. But I'm no good at ripping DVD's to good quality and well compressed video. If it really came to it then I could post the DVD to someone to rip. But I'm guessing someone must be able to record/rip/upload.

I wont be in so wont be able to watch Chris and Dave's alternatively commentary. Also, even if I was, since its an England match I may have watched the "real" commentary - no matter how much I love Chris and Dave and their alternative commentary.

Hopefully someone is able to download it - thats the perfect solution. Thanks in advance!

I'm going to record it, because I want to watch the match live with proper commentary first. Have we got official confirmation that it'll be on Freeview? And do we know if Freeview/Virgin Media will be PIP? I don't mind too much which of the two I watch it from and record it from. I'm not too bothered about PIP myself (unless they plan on doing visual jokes), but if other people would like it then I'll record that one (if there is one).

As usual though there seems to be virtually no publicity about this. It seems that this thread is the only source of information apart from the show itself :)

Wow, I reached 1000 posts and didn't even notice. Time flies :)

I really hope a download becomes available, even of just the audio... I am sadly going to miss the game and thus can only record the normal BBC channels. Recording the BBC HD footage and having an alternative commentary as MP3 would be super-awesome, for being able to dip in and out as I watch later tonight after nobody tells me the score!!

Ok I'll record it then. It would be good if someone else could record it too though if possible. I don't like ripping video 8O
