Torch tour thingy

Postby dimtimjim » Fri Jun 01, 2012 6:15 am

I know we have a thread about the torch, but its themed around Chris not carrying it - which he has, so...

I just wanna say (mainly for licky-licky-brown-nose reasons) that I'm looking forward to the rest of this torch tour thingy that the show are doing. Not so fussed about the flaming stick side of things, but more the OB's the show will be doing as a consequence of this.

I always like it when the team are stuffed into a tight space for 24 hours and go a group night out on a school night. Loved the Abber stories, looking forward to more.

Hope Dom gets to go on the rest of 'em too. Baldy.
I've actually met Chris n shook his hand. This fact is still causing slight issues in my trouser dept....

Yeah, it does give the show a different feel sometimes, it's a nice change. Although a lot of these times they rely heavily on webcam content, which I can never watch.

Yes, if they put extended highlights of webcam stuff online later or wouldn't be too much of a problem, but you're lucky if you get more than a couple of minutes clip.

It's coming through my town a week today. Gonna be passing through at 07:30ish just as I'm heading off to work. Wouldn't have minded having a wee nosey at it but if I hang about, traffic is going to be a complete * as its route is my route to work.

It's in Manchester on the 23rd, just round the corner from my building, so I'll probably pop out and see it. I asked the flatmate if he wanted to see it too, but it was a decisive no...

I like watching the Torch Relay while I'm 'working' on my paper. I'm quite into it and I don't even live in the UK. Pathetic.

It's coming down my street at 7:30am on a Saturday morning, which is very convenient.

Its coming past here on Sunday, i think. To be honest though i wouldn't get up to watch it even if they used it to set fire to the bedroom curtains.

I thought that myself, but then I remembered that nothing else happens on this street. There was once a broken down lorry reported on the breakfast edition of Midlands Today, and there was a drive-by shooting a couple of years ago, but apart from that, it's really boring.

It's visiting Dublin after Belfast, which is a bit odd.

I wouldn't go there...the subject , that is, not Dublin ( which was very nice the last time i was there, though that was years ago).

It came through my town this past Tuesday afternoon. I've seen so many people where I live! Streets were packed. If the torch comes throught your town or near to your town, try and go and watch it :)

Apparently the postie who delivers our mail at work, his daughter is running with it when it comes through Colchester, I have absolutely no idea why. I have to be staffing a display stall on the route at stupid o'clock in the morning, wearing my bright pink corporate T shirt... lovely.

Yeah! Tomorrows show live from n.iron. Looking forward to stories of tonights drinking fun tonight!

Actually listening to show live today, which is nice as I can text in, but can't skip music (one direction stuff, not skrilex).

My friend Jamie's mum is running with it for some reason... she's mad as a box of frogs though.
