How the hell did Steve Lamacq not win this? He's been working in the music game pretty much all his life, Cotton is just a glorified TV presenter.

Oh, and the music Cotton plays on her show? Last I checked it was playlist tripe she didn't have a hand in choosing.

Lamacq's show is excellent, but then again I think 6 Music is an excellent station, I'm glad they won the Gold award, they deserve it

I quite like the 'idea' of Beryl & Betty. Something fresh that no other local station is doing. Fresh, not necessarily good. But something different nonetheless.

The key thing here is that there's a guy behind the scenes producing it all, and generating the show content - it's not the 2 old ladies who are dictating what's on, it's a guy who has more of a grasp on what's funny and what's not to a modern audience.

The show format is pretty dynamic (but also risky), so it probably deserves some recognition. The award is pretty much 50% for the show 'creator' and 50% for Beryl & Betty.
