The Monkees, I'm A Believer

Today's Transcript:

Chic bassist Nile Rodgers produced many of Madonna's early singles. Singles are the opposite of couples in the world of dating. Dating of a different type is what archaeologists might have to do with fossils. Fossils can be crushed into fossil fuels like coal and oil. Oil is what makes parts of the Middle East very rich. Rich is a word associated with tea in the world of biscuits. Biscuits in America are known as cookies, like those eaten by Cookie Monster on 'Sesame Street'. 'Sesame Street' is where you'd find Mr Snuffleupagus and Big Bird. A big bird is also how you might describe Brigitte Nielsen, who used to be married to Sylvester Stallone, whose mum Jackie has done 'Celebrity Big Brother', as has Pete Burns. Pete Burns caused a controversy while in the 'Big Brother' house that looked like it was made from monkeys, which links to The Monkees and 'I'm A Believer'.

Flaws:

Nile Rodgers was the guitarist in Chic rather than the bassist, and Pete Burns' coat was rumoured to be made from gorillas, which technically aren't monkeys.

Sum 41, In Too Deep

Today's Transcript:

Monkeys are big fans of bananas, which are a good source of potassium. Potassium is represented on the periodic table by the letter K. 'K' was the title of an album by Kula Shaker, while Shaker is a style of kitchen units. If you remove the first letter of 'units' you're left with 'nits', which are what you have to get removed by the nit nurse. Nurse is a type of shark, as is great white. White is the colour that you'd associate with snow. Snow brought travel chaos to the South of England last week when it fell on Thursday. Thursday is named after the God Thor and also has links with Jupiter, which you'd find in space. Space is what you might need more of if you have kids. 'Kids' was a big it for Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue. Kylie is from Australia, where lots of people have swimming pools. If you jumped in to a pool but weren't a very good swimmer you might be described as being "in too deep", which links to Sum 41 and 'In Too Deep'.

Flaws:

Neneh Cherry, Buffalo Stance

Today's Transcript:

'In Too Deep' was also the title of a track by Genesis, from the album 'Invisible Touch'. Touch is something you do with your fingers. Fingers is a word associated with fish and fudge. 'Fudge' rhymes with 'nudge', which is something you do on a fruit machine. Fruit machines are the business of our friend Harry, who's from Cyprus. Cyprus is somewhere that you'd find olive oil on the table. Olive Oyl is the girlfriend of Popeye, who has an anchor on his arm. An anchor is something you'd find on a boat. 'Boat' rhymes with 'goat', which is an animal capable of providing cheese. Cheese can be hard or soft, and in that respect shares something in common with tap water and wood. Wood is what trees are made of. Trees are what a buffalo might use to clean itself after rolling around in the mud. If you saw a buffalo doing this you might say it was in a buffalo stance, which links to Neneh Cherry and 'Buffalo Stance'.

Flaws:

Goats provide milk that can be made into cheese...but otherwise watertight.

Aerosmith, Love In An Elevator

Today's Transcript:

Buffalo mozzarella is a type of cheese. Cheese is what you get asked to say when someone is taking a picture of you. 'Picture Of You' was a hit for Boyzone, who launched the career of Ronan Keating. If you add an 'M' to 'Ronan' you get an anagram of 'Norman', as in Norman the Conqueror, who fought in the Battle of Hastings against Harold, who ended up getting an arrow in his eye for his trouble. 'Trouble' is a record title that links Pink and Shampoo. Shampoo is what you might take a bottle of into the shower, unless you're Scott Mills, in which case it'll be Pinot Grigio. Pinot Grigio is from Italy, like Frankie Dettori, who's very small. Small, first name Gladstone, is a former professional cricketer who's got a very short neck, a bit like Sandi Toksvig. Sandi Toksvig is from Denmark, which is one of the many places Aerosmith will be playing on their forthcoming world tour, which links to Aerosmith and 'Love In An Elevator'.

Flaws:

It was William the Conqueror (aka Duke William II) who took part in the Battle of Hastings. Norman is his nationality, ie from Normandy in France.

Luther Vandross and Janet Jackson with BBD & Ralph Tresvant, The Best Things In Life Are Free

Today's Transcript:

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler is now a close personal friend of ours, and in particular Hoop Dogg. Hoop Dogg has a camera and likes to take pictures. Pictures are what you might see hanging in a gallery, like the Louvre in Paris. Paris is the capital of France, which shares a land border with Switzerland. Switzerland make penknives, chocolate and clocks. 'Clocks' was a hit for Coldplay, whose frontman Chris Martin looks like James Morrison. James Morrison shares the same name as the late Jim Morrison of The Doors. Doors have three opening options, which are push, pull and revolving. I find revolving doors scary, which is why I tend to avoid them in hotels. Hotels are where big stars like Janet Jackson and the late Luther Vandross stay where they're travelling , which links to Janet Jackson and Luther Vandross and 'The Best Things In Life Are Free'.

Flaws:

In the world of door options, there are also sliding, gullwing and automatic amongst others to consider.

Blur, The Universal

Today's Transcript:

Janet Jackson once exposed her boob on TV at the Superbowl. The Superbowl is always on in the middle of the night over here, and in that respect shares something in common with the Oscars. The Oscars are taking place this Sunday night, right after Radio 1's Movie Weekend in Bradford. Bradford is the home of Tasmin Archer, who had a hit with 'Sleeping Satellite'. Satellite navigation enables people who can't read maps to get around. 'I Get Around' was a hit for the Beach Boys, as was 'Help Me Rhonda'. The Rhondda Valley is situated in South Wales. The primary industry in South Wales was traditionally coal mining, which rhymes with 'Soul Mining', which was an album from The The, whose past members include Jools Holland. 'Later With Jools Holland' has featured many acts including Blur, which links to Blur and 'The Universal'.

The Wonderstuff, Size Of A Cow

Today's Transcript:

Blur's 'Parklife' video starred actor Phil Daniels, who's now in 'Eastenders', which is set in East London. East London is where the Olympics will be held in 2012. If you add up the digits in 2012, you get five. 5ive is the name of the British boyband who've made a comeback, even though there are now only four of them. Fore is what you shout if uou can see that somebody is going to get hit on the head by a golfball. The surface of a golfball is sort of dimply, a bit like Bryan Adams' cheeks. Cheeks are what Dizzy Gillespie used to puff out when he played the trumpet. If you were looking for the trumpet in an orchestra, you'd find it in the brass section. Brass is also where you'd find a cornet, which is the type of horn that is used to commence a hunt. Hunt, first name Miles, is the man who fronts The Wonderstuff, which links to The Wonderstuff and 'Size Of A Cow'.

Flaws:

Apparently the horns used to commence a hunt are, surprisingly, hunting horns.

Mousse T featuring Emma Lanford, Is It Cos I'm Cool

Today's Transcript:

If something was the size of a cow, it'd be like a fatter, black and white version of a horse. Horseriding is something that is done in a saddle. A saddle of lamb is something that you might get in a posh restaurant. If you were in a restaurant, you might want to see the wine list. If you add an additional 'L' to the word 'list', you get an anagram of 'still', which is the alternative to sparkling when ordering water. In poor places like Africa, they have to walk miles for water to the nearest well. Well is the opposite of sick in the world of medicine. Medicine Hat is the name of a town in Canada. Canada is somewhere you'd associate with mooses. If you add the letter 'T' to 'moose' you get Mousse T, which links to Mousse T and 'Is It Cos I'm Cool'.

Tina Turner, The Best

Today's Transcript:

'Mousse' rhymes with 'goose', which is the name of the guy who died at the start of 'Top Gun'. 'Top Gun' starred Meg Ryan, who was also in 'Sleepless In Seattle' with Tom Hanks, who was in 'The Shawshank Redemption' with Morgan Freeman, who was in 'Seven' with Brad Pitt, who was also in 'Snatch'. Snatch is a word associated with thieves. 'Thieves' rhymes with 'leaves', which are what you might find on a tree. Trees absorb carbon dioxide and give out oxygen. Carbon dioxide and oxygen are both found in human breath, which is used to blow out the candles on a birthday cake. Your birthday only comes around once a year, which means it's a day of celebration. 'Celebration' is a song by Kool & The Gang. 'Gang' rhymes with 'bang', which is the noise that would be made by a party popper pulled to celebrate somebody's birthday. Today is Chris Moyles' birthday, and if we had to describe him we'd say he is "simply the best", which links to Tina Turner and 'The Best'.

Flaws:

Tom Hanks wasn't in 'The Shawshank Redemption'. Additionally, Goose doesn't die at the beginning of 'Top Gun' - it's about halfway through!

Josh Wink, Higher State Of Consciousness

Today's Transcript:

We thought we saw Tina Turner at Alton Towers yesterday, but it turned out to be a lookalike. Some of the most popular famous people to be copied by lookalikes are Michael Jackson and the Queen. Our Queen is called Elizabeth, and next in line to the throne is her son Charles. Charles is the Prince of Wales, which is who Aled would represent if he played international rugby. Rugby is a place in warwickshire, and is somewhere that you see a lot of radio masts. Masts of a different type are found on ships. Ships can come under threat from piracy, which can also be a problem in the world of videos. Music videos are a big promotional tool for bands. If you add an 'L' to 'band' you get 'bland', which is a word that you wouldn't use to describe a curry. One of my favourite types of curry is rogan josh. When you think of the word Josh in the context of 90s dance records you think of Josh Wink, which links to Josh Wink and 'Higher State Of Consciousness'.

Today's Transcript:

Wink describes the action of closing just one eye. If you only had one eye, you'd be a cyclops. 'Cyclops' sounds a bit like 'flip-flops', which is what you wear on your summer holidays. 'Summer Holiday' was a big hit for Cliff Richard, who is mates with Sue Barker. Sue Barker shares the same surname as Ronnie Barker, who used to be in 'Porridge'. 'Porridge' rhymes with 'Norwich', which is the city that gave us Myleene Klass. Myleene Klass used to be in Hear'say, who had a hit with 'Pure And Simple'. Simple Minds are fronted by Jim Kerr, who has a son with Patsy Kensit. Patsy Kensit also has a son with Liam Gallagher of Oasis, which links to Oasis and 'Wonderwall'.

Tori Amos, Cornflake Girl

Today's Transcript:

Oasis apparently took their name from a leisure centre in Swindon. Swindon is the hometown of actress Billie Piper. Piper Alpha was a famous oil rig that caught fire. Fire needs to be put out with water, foam or sand. Sand is what you might get in your clothes if you spend the day on the beach. 'The Beach' is a film starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Leonardo DiCaprio was also in 'Titanic' with kate Winslet, who was at the Oscars. Oscar is a character in 'Sesame Street'. Sesame is a type of seed that can be crushed to make oil. Oil can also be made from corn. Corn is the primary ingredient in cornflakes, and if you were a girl that likes cornflakes you'd be a cornflake girl, which links to Tori Amos and 'Cornflake Girl'.

Flaws:

Fires can also be put out by other means such as co2, but otherwise seamless.

Princess is also the name of an awful car from the 1970s built by Austin. Austin Powers is the fictional character played by Mike Myers, who also starred in 'Wayne's World'. 'Wayne's World' was released in 1992, the same year that Benny Hill died. Benny Hill was from Southampton, like Craig David. Craig David shares the same first name as Craig Doyle, who used to present 'Holiday' before Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen. If you remove the first letter of 'Bowen' you're left with 'owen', as in Owen Wilson, who starred in the remake of 'Starksy and Hutch'. Appleton, Don't Worry

Today's Transcript:

Rolling Stones axeman Keith Richards hurt himself last year after falling out of a tree. Trees can collectively make up a forest. 'A Forest' was a hit for The Cure in 1980, while '1980' was a hit for Estelle. Estelle performed at the Radio 1 Christmas party in 2004. 2004 was the year that the European Championships were held in Portugal. The Portugese were really good sailors and colonised much of the world, including parts of Southern India. India is where Jade is at the moment, trying to rebuild some of the bridges she burned in the 'Big Brother' house. Houses are what Kirstie and Phil try to find for people every week. A week is made up of seven days. Every day to keep the doctor away you should eat an apple. The Prodigy, Voodoo People

Today's Transcript:

'Don't worry' is what you'd say to someone if they were crying over spilt milk. 'Milk' rhymes with 'silk', which in the olden days was only produced in China, and transported to the West by horse. Horseriding is something you'd associate with Zara Phillips, who won the last BBC Sports Personality of the Year award and goes out with Mike Tindall, whose ears look like cauliflowers. Cauliflowers are often combined with cheese to make cauliflower cheese. Cheese can be smelly, as can socks and trumps. Trumps is a word associated with cards, which come in a deck, while a deck of a different type is what you might find on a ship. 'Ship of Fools' was a hit for Erasure, who are fronted by Andy Bell, but not the same Andy Bell from Oasis, who plays the guitar. The guitar is a popular instrument in Spain. If you remove the first letter of 'Spain' you're left with 'pain' which is what you'd feel if someone dropped a photocopier on your foot. May, first name James, had to take Lemar to the Brit Awards in his stretch limo, while Chris Moyles was chauffered by Jeremy Clarkson. Jeremy Clarkson is from Doncaster, which is where we recently saw the Kaiser Chiefs. Chiefs are what you find on a Native Indian reservation. A reservation is what you make in a restaurant to secure a table. If you swap the first letter of 'table' for an 'F' you get 'fable', which is a type of story. 'Tellin' Stories' was an album by The Charlatans, who are fronted by Tim Burgess. Tim Burgess' initials are TB, which also stands for tuberculosis. "Get fresh at the weekend" was the chorus to Mel and Kim's hit 'Showing Out', released in 1986. 1986 was the year that the World Cup was held in Mexico, remembered for Maradona's 'hand of God'. 'God' rhymes with 'nod', which is what you might see people doing in an auction room. Auction rooms are also where you'd expect to see David Dickinson, who is from Stockport. Stockport County made gistory on Saturday, by going nine unbeaten games without conceding a goal. 'Goal' rhymes with 'foal', which is a type of baby horse. Horses are what Daniel Radcliffe likes in his play, which is currently running in the West End. 'West End Girls' was a hit for the Pet Shop Boys in 1985. Today's Transcript:

The Beastie Boys are from New York, which is so good they named it twice. Twice is the representation of the number two, which is the numerical neighbour of three. Three is the magic number according to De La Soul. Soul Asylum had a hit with 'Runaway Train'. A train is how you might travel between London and Crewe. If you combine the word 'cutting' with the word 'crew' you get Cutting Crew, who had a hit with '(I Just) Died In Your Arms Tonight'. 'Tonight Tonight' was a big record for the Smashing Pumpkins. Pumpkins are sold in large numbers around Halloween. Halloween is associated woth the words 'trick' and 'treat'. 'Treat' rhymes with 'meat', which is what you wouldn't find on a vegetarian menu. Vegetarians tend not to be well catered for when watching darts. Darts legend Phil 'The Power' Taylor is from Stoke on Trent. Stoke on Trent is made up of six towns including Tunstall, which links to KT Tunstall and 'Black Horse and the Cherry Tree'.

KT Tunstall is from St Andrews, which is a good place to play golf. If you swap the first letter of 'golf' for an 'R' you get 'Rolf', who's a famous artist. Other famous artists include Donatello and DaVinci, which were also the names of two of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Turtles carry their homes on their back in the shape of a shell. Smaller shells are what girls like to collect on the beach. Other things found on a beach are sand and pebbles. Pebbles was a character in 'The Flintstones', which was turned into a film starring John Goodman. John Goodman shares the same first name as John the Baptist, who was heavily involved with the church. Church, first name Charlotte, is from Wales, which is one of the countries we'll be visiting on our Rallyoke tour where we'll be raising lots of money cos when it comes to charity we've got the power, which links to Snap and 'The Power'.
