Drink of choice?

Postby slaphead1982 » Tue Apr 17, 2012 1:00 am

This is a place to reveal your favourite drink. It will never have to be alcholic, just your favourite ever drink.

To get the ball rolling, mine are Irn-Bru (Made from gurders) and Jack Daniels.

Drink of choice?

Postby chrysostom » Tue Apr 17, 2012 7:19 am

Too many to mention!

*:

Black Forest
After Eight
Manhattan
Long Island Iced Tea (or any recognised deviation)

Spirit & Mixer:

Gin & Tonic
Morgan's Spiced & Diet Cole

Sparkling:

Extra dry Prosecco

Soft drinks:

Fiery Irn Bru
Diet Coke
Diet Coke with Cherry
Orange Oasis
Diet Ginger Beer

Squash:

Elderflower cordial with sparkling water
Vimto

Juice:

Any Rubicon flavour
Pressed Apple juice.

That is so many. The preference for diet drinks is because I don't like sugary drinks that much. Ideally most of the drinks I have will have a lot of ice in them. I don't really do hot drinks. This has filled a bus journey nicely.

I used to have a massive problem with Pepsi. Since the age of about 12 I have been addicted to it and would some time drinkmup to 12 cans a day. My body built up a dependancy to it and I had to be weaned off it slowly. So I guess thats my favourite drink.

I had this with Diet Coke!

I was having 2 liters a day at around 16-17 - gradually substituted it for carbonated water and controlled the intake, but because of it I now drink very quickly (regardless of what drink it is) as I got used to necking my drinks. The evils of caffeine! Have had to try very hard not to have coffee every day since I've started a working lifestyle.

COFFEE. Sugar-free vanilla soya latte if you're buying.

I don't drink alcohol very often, but I do like Jack Daniels, or an old fashioned if I find somewhere that knows how to make one. I also like those flavoured ciders, but I can't drink a lot of them cos they're carbonated and they give me hiccups and indigestion.

I pretty much survive on Red Bull so that's probably a favourite along with chocolate milkshake. Alcoholic wise, vodka is usually my tipple.

Tea. I like a lot of drinks but the only one I couldn't imagine managing without is tea.

You are. Tea should never feature sugar. Coffee should however.

I drink tea without sugar, but I had to go cold turkey and even now I love it with sugar in, even though I force myself not to have it.

I absolutely hate tea with sugar in it but on three occasions in my life someone has offered me tea and I have replied "yes please, with 2 sugars". And really needed it.

It wouldn't bother me in the slightest if I never drink another cup of tea or coffee again. I don't think there is any drink that I 'need' for its taste. I've never noticed any effect on me whether I have had a cup of coffee or tea, whether it be with zero sugar or three sugars.

I have a cup of tea each morning with my toast, but it wouldn't bother me if I couldn't have it, and when I am at work I just drink water.

Regarding alcoholic drinks, cider does it for me. I only go for that because it doesn't make me feel sick as easily as pretty much any other alcoholic drink. I am not arsed about the taste of it it, I just like the effect. I have never noticed any effect from tea, coffee, soft drinks or anything other than alcohol.

I have an addictive personality and get completely hooked on anything I have a lot of. I've had to do cold turkey from strong painkillers just recently - not fun - and I'm cutting down on carbs at the moment and had the same experiences trying to get off sugar. If I go a day without coffee, I get a blinding, thumping headache. That's why I rarely drink alcohol - I can't trust myself with it.

Tea with half a sugar for me, just enough to sweeten mildly. I drink weak tea tho, none of this 'bag in for 3 monutes' shiz you hear about...

Now with Tea do you take the teabag out and then add the milk or add the milk and then take the teabag out?

My sister does the latter and it tastes horrible.

See, a real Tea master will tell you that all depends on how strong you want the end result. I always put milk in before anything else on my own tea, but as previously stated, I'm after weak tea and the milk helps block the bag up slightly. For my stronger tea drinking friends, its always milk in last once bag removed.

You should always give the bag a wee shake before putting it into your cup, shake off the escaped tea dust from within the box/jar...

I always do bag removed, then milk in. I guess that's just cos it's how my parents do it, I never really thought about why. My uncle just leaves the bag in the whole time - it's gross. Like some sort of foreign object floating in your tea. Bleurgh.
