Not exactly the classic marketing ploy, with a clear sense of direction as to what the end game is. The release of a sex tape doesn't fit in with the brand that Tulisa portrays, an I think the release of the tape wasn't a publicity stunt. I don't know for sure, but neither do you guys.

Of course I don't know for sure but I think a decent level of cynicism is in order when forming opinions about 21st century "celebrities". Two things specifically lead me to believe it was a deliberate marketing ploy - first, this type of "coincidence" happens too often to be - well, coincidence. And second - she's come out of it smelling of roses with a lot of attention and all of it sympathetic, and with good sales of her new record.

I don't know that this is the case, but personally I do believe it to be.

The sex tape is the last resort of the Z list as it completely shames the individual, damages their reputation and only serves to thrust the celebrity into the public consciousness briefly. It sets up their brand to be vacuous and based on image/sexuality, something that her brand's mission statement of 'The Female Boss isn't in keeping with, especially her affiliation with clean cut Little Mix.

Given that Tulisa's standing in the celeb world is fairly high (in terms of interest and exposure) it would be a very confusing piece of advice to say that a sex tape was a good (or neccesary) idea - and a huge risk to bank that she would come out of it better off (which in a lot of people's opinions she hasn't...presumably because they believe that only bad people allow themselves to be filmed while doing something sexual).

If she hadn't done anything other than N-Dubz then I might think you're right, but I don't think she needs a potentially damaging spike in popularity for the sake of one single.

I listened for about an hour whilst getting up and for half of my drive to work. Then I turned it off. It was absolutely dreadful. Is the entire show for the rest of the week just going to be Chris taking the piss out of her accent?

I think you may be crediting her with more intelligence than she has ever shown herself publicly to have. Putting yourself in a position where any sex tape you have of yourself is anything other than totally in your control - whether you are famous or not, but surely especially if you are - indicates a certain stupidity to me. And I would argue that she is any or much more than a Z list celebrity. The X-Factor gig has given her increased exposure but its hardly of the type to enhance her credentials.

-hasn't been borne out anyway - the exposure she has had has had a very positive and sympathetic net result. And given that (I believe) the reason for it was single sales, it only needs to be brief.

Its been a very successful campaign. Has done her far more good than harm, and all she has had to do was allow a short clip of video of her having sex to be publicly accessible for a very short time. What more could she ask?

As far as I'm concerned the show's on a 3 week break now. I might given the Golden Hour a listen on iPlayer at some point on Thursday but won't be listening live at all.

It's definitely an interesting one. I can tell that Chris is enjoying her, but the rest of the team don't seem to be opening to her. Dom and Tina definitely seemed to be acting towards her as if she was a guest rather than a team member, you could hear the difference between how they acted to Olly and then how they acted to Tulisa.

Definitely an elephant in the room. But what I heard of today's show with her wasn't too bad. Do think these one guest weekly runs run the risk of getting very boring, very quickly. Still think a different Dave replacement each day would have been better. Anything is better than a week of Olly Murs though.

She added nothing to the opening link except the opportunity for Chris to spend what seemed like ages doing his awful "omgi" voice - which he does really badly - but she was waking up a bit after 7. I liked her comment during Classical Class - "what is this FOR exactly?!"

But she's not got a lot to say for herself has she - and it might be because she's tired but she sounds even dimmer than I thought she was. Its only for a couple of days, like a bad case of wind, it will pass.
