Just announced - he's leaving in two weeks. Producer slot on another show?

He is producing Nick Grimshaw. To be honest I think he will be more comfortable on that show.

That's disappointing. When Chris said someone was leaving I hoped it would be Tina.

I like Matt, but he isn't on air often enough for him leaving to significantly affect the show from a listeners point of view.

He is on air quite a lot and is the catalyst for a lot of the humour on the show (mainly at his expense).
If Tina was to leave it would be the end of the show.

Tina leaving would be the end of the show? How do you work that out?

I take you're point about Matt being the catalyst for some humour though, and I am sure Aled will say he will be missed from a production perspective as well.

Yeah, that's kinda how I feel about him. But then I think they mainly bring him on air after 9am and I often have to switch off around that time.

It was a joke. I do like Tina but I accept she is easily replaced.

I do enjoy playing the game of how long will it take for any thread about a team member to turn into a Tina bashing session.

It seems like Matt has really disliked the spotlight recently, and as a result his on-air contributions to the show haven't been great (something he's probably not bothered about).

Hope that the new member enjoys being on air!

Matt's Staying Alive is one of my favourite things that I've clipped - he's had a few great moments on air.

Time to photoshop Pippa into those new team photos then!

Personally I would of preferred one of the rest of the team (except Freya) so the balance swifts away from having so many egos who have their own presenting career to advance. It just seems like there are too many voices wanting to be heard recently, which made Chris on his own last week so much more refreshing.
Welcome back my naughty donkeys!
You're watching Sports Night on CSC so stick around.

Well, this one hasn't yet. When do you reckon it will start?

Probably when someone makes a remark about wanting Tina leaving the show in a thread about Matt Fincham.

And that constitutes a session of Tina bashing?

Well, I think it's a potential start for one.

Well I won't be participating in it if it does. I was merely stating what I thought before the announcement was made when Chris said someone was leaving. All of us would've wondered who it was and who we hoped it would or wouldn't be.

I just stated my thought/hope. I am not bashing (!) anyone.

Good stuff :) I think Freya is the only one who I literally wouldn't care if she went, but that's only cos she has little to no on-air input.

It's also one of my favorite clips, but ever since he got a gf and doesn't want to talk about her his on-air contributions got more and more cringe worthy.

But I will miss him, or the banter about him.

Shame he is going I like Matt, doesn't deserve all the stick he gets from the team, I know its all in jest, but they do it more then is really necessary.

All I can say is good luck to him in his new role

I also hoped it would be Tina too.

Bet he can't wait to go. Chris really tore into him the other week and, with him taking part in the photo session recently, I reckon this definitely wasn't planned. Did you hear his comment to Dave as well about how he'd miss him more than anyone else "and I really mean that"?. Could picture that being said through gritted teeth with forced smiles all round. Hope I'm wrong, to be honest, but I think either himself or Chris had had enough.

Best of luck to the lad.
From what we heard of him of him he came across as a genuinely nice funny fella not afraid to have the piss ripped out of him by all & sundry. Which was just as well.
