I know it is not cool to like anything to do with Chris de Burgh and that song is indeed an atrocious song, but I have to say The Spanish Train is a fantastic song.

I shall have to think about this, but some of the best (worst) ones have already been posted.

I was going to put down Axel F by Crazy Frog myself because that monstrosity was a fad that went too bloody far and kept Coldplay off the top spot even though I am not a big fan of them either but anything would have been better than that.

Some of the bad ones have been on here already but I absolutely detest this song and hate the band and the worse thing is it spent 15 * weeks at the top.

Wet Wet Wet - Love is All Around

I had to vote for my own as I bought Crazy Frog and helped it get number one. I'm so ashamed of myself now though.

Oh and anything my Brian Adams, Micheal Jackson or stars on 45. This tough is the worst.

I need some educating. Who are Star 45? I might recognise a track but the name is beyond my knowledge.

Maybe age has something to do with it but....
I don't care what decade it's from. How the hell did the crazy pile of steaming horse manure ever make it to number 1? Please, for the love of god, never let a ring tone ever, EVER get to number 1 again. (Rant over :) )

I voted for Nic. Nothing on there is worse than Blobby.

I'm amazed that Celine Dion with My Heart Will Go on (and on, and on....) and Bryan Adams Everything I Do (I Do It All Over You) aren't on the list.

I refuse to accept that there's anything worse than the Millennium Prayer. At least Crazy Frog has the theme from Beverley Hills Cop (I think) in it.

I agree, I think the vote to day is fair in that the Frog and Cliff are deserved joint winners of this accolade.

Although I did vote for Whitney!

They were forerunners of the mash-up, they used to just take all the popular songs of the day and string bits of them together in a medley, sung by session singers. They did a Beatles one which I remember vividly. I'm sure it was a travesty but I was too young to recognise that.

It was Stars ON 45. After them it was Jive Bunny. Then the world ended.

Stars on 45. I just whent onto i-Tunes and you tube to find some tracks. Found them and quit frankly they can stay there. All the tracks just have a clap beat over the top. Mash-ups have to start somewhere I suppose but the method has improved alot since 'Star' where knocking about. And Nicola your right. The beatles one IS a travesty, A fifteen minute travesty at that.
