Sarah Millican

Postby dimtimjim » Fri Mar 09, 2012 12:14 pm

Since no one else started one yet, thought I would. Really enjoyed the SM interview on Tuesday, she's funny and it made for a very relaxed chat. I tried to get tickets to see her on tour recently, but couldn't get the dates/locations to work. Will try again for the next tour she mentioned.

I know she is no super-model (and I don't think she'd mind me noting that) but I can't help but fancy her a little - very approachable and likable. And cuddly.
I've actually met Chris n shook his hand. This fact is still causing slight issues in my trouser dept....

I only heard the first half, but I intend to clip it for the sound vault, so I'll listen to the rest as I do that. She does come across as very likeable, and seemed comfortable with Chris' humour from what I heard.

I think it can only be a matter of time before she goes up to playing arenas - she sold out so fast last time she was with us.

Yeah, that was on at the same time as Celeb Juice which annoyed me. I'm hoping there might be a repeat, if not it'll be the iplayer.

I think she's brilliant. Cat and I went to see the Chatterbox tour and it was fan-bloody-tastic, really funny. AND she does come across as thoroughly likeable and down to earth. Chris' geordie impressions were brilliant and the idea of Sarah Millican on helium made me laugh a lot - just a shame they weren't allowed to do it.

She seemed very nice. I have seen her before on HIGNFY and not paid much attention to her, but she does seem like a very nice person. I didn't find her particularly funny though.

Ugh, that woman makes my skin crawl. For me, her voice is like nails being scraped down a blackboard and I don't find her funny at all. I took a real dislike to her when I saw her on the Graham Norton Show, some of the stories she told on there were really gross, and I'm no prude. She's been popping up everywhere of late too, it's becoming harder and harder to avoid her! Straight after managing to avoid her on the Moyles show, she turned up on Richard Bacon's show with the same unfunny schtick. Maybe now that she's got her own tv show she can stay off everyone else's.

I really enjoyed the interview. I have to agree with Emmy though, she does tell some stories in interviews which are a bit too much....

I believe on the Graham Norton Show, while sat next to Vince Vaughn and P Diddy, she told a story about farting while getting some...erm, attention to her lower regions from her boyfriend 8O

Funnily enough, i feel exactly the same. A laugh, a ride & a pizza shared afterwards. Though i like a bit of chunky lovin' myself anyway.

She comes across as a nice enough person. But after seeing her plastered around various panel shows and other TV appearances, I've had enough of her. Material is predictable and just not funny. Cake, sex, men, being a woman.

Not for me.

Its three more subjects than most male stand-ups can manage. But then women can multi-task.

And most male comedians don't talk about sex, women and being a man? Hmmm.

Anyway, the interview is now in the sound vault:

Which comedians are you watching? I see male comedians live around once a month at work and I cannot think of a single one who doesn't cover those topics. Unless maybe you mean the ones who do sketches rather than stand-up, like Armstrong and Miller - but even they cover that stuff sometimes. Eddie Izzard doesn't talk about women much, but he definitely does mention sex.

I used to really dislike her - but now that her voice has calmed down, her gags are quite funny.

Her accent put quite soothing, and she's very confident in her own personality (which isn't often the case with female comedians) - and this leads to her coming across as a very genuine person.

She's good as a standup, but like Jimmy Carr - not great. I'd go to see her if the tickets were around the £20 mark.

She sometimes does a tour preview at The Cannon in Newport Pagnell Chrysostom, I think that's pretty cheap. Mind you, she may have outgrown that place even for previews now.

Her tours are a lot better than her TV material in my opinion.
