Porridge. Just what I needed after slogging it through the snow to get to the office.

Silly question; is Porridge like Ready Brek?

Ready Brek is dumbed down porridge - but basically, yes. Ready Brek has added sugar I think.

I remember those adverts where they turned the kids radioactive. Well that's what it looked like to me.

I used to like the chocolate Ready Brek. At one time that was my favourite.

I'd like to report back that the porridge with lemon curd was an absolute success. Just a wee drop - a teaspoon will do it.

I am eating my - lemon-curdless - porridge now too. I may try the lemon curd, although its essentially sugar again, so perhaps best not. Sounds good though.

While I understand why you're avoiding sugar, the logic of "a little wouldn't hurt" must apply? I'm not saying you should have three bowls of frosties with full fat milk and more sugar but adding a small amount of flavour to significantly improve the taste (whether honey or jam or woteva) will encourage you to continue with an otherwise boring food. Wouldn't it?

I always have breakfast biscuits, I find them really filling and nice with a cuppa in the morning.

I came across this from a few years ago on Facebook and it really made me laugh. Especially the 'Neil from the young ones' bit.

Oh dear, that is funny. Reminds me somewhat of the campaign to sack him to save 6 Music.

I think that would be lovely and I completely agree, that would be the best approach to take. However unfortunately my issues with sugar are something like addiction - for all I know it might even BE addiction if that's possible - and telling me that I can "have just a little bit, it won't do you any harm" is a similar scenario to telling an alcoholic that its perfectly all right to have just one glass of wine. See, we both KNOW its perfectly ok to have a little /just one - we simply aren't capable of DOING that.

It will only make me miserable until I can do my jeans up without threatening to do myself an injury. Once I can see results (somewhere other than the scales) I'll be fine with the no sugar thing. I hope.

Agreed, it's your choice.

I am still with the apple butter with mine.

Did anyone seen Room 101 last week, Chris Packham had Moyles up for placing in the room, it was put into perspective of what a twat he is when he went on to try and put childrens drawings in there, twat!
